Record number: 13255 Title: Black Friday (2007) aka The Kidnapping Medium: TV Movie Actress: Darcy Rose Byrnes, Senta Moses, Amy Carlson Description: Carlson's a bank executive who leaves her daughter (Byrnes) in the care of a babysitter (Moses) while she's off at a business meeting, then becomes concerned when she can't contact them by phone. She finds out why upon returning to her car at the airport about twelve minutes in, where she finds an envelope containing pictures of her daughter sitting bound but ungagged on a bed-one of which features a closeup of her tied-in-back wrists-accompanied by a note from the kidnappers. At about forty minutes, the action shifts to the hideout where the daughter and babysitter are being held as Moses, who's sitting on the bed with Byrnes, is busy sawing the ropes on her wrists on a nail protruding from a board behind her. Once she frees her hands, she rips away the ropes from around her ankles and quickly frees the similarly-tied Byrnes, then both head for the window to make their escape. Unfortunately, one of their captors shows up before both can climb out and (spoiler alert!) things don't end happily for the babysitter, although the murder isn't shown. At just over an hour and a half, Carlson, who's fallen into the clutches of the kidnappers while attempting to deliver on the abductors' demands, is shown being led from a car into their hideout with a bag over her head and her hands cuffed behind her back. A few minutes later she's shown sitting in a chair while one of the baddies apparently cuffs her wrists to its back before another pulls the bag off her head. After a brief interrogation the cuffs are removed, ending the movie's scenes. No one is gagged in any of the sequences. |

They're first shown around the 20' mark, seated on a couch in an apartment. Their hands are tied before them with white rope. They are later seen sitting on two dog cages in the back of a van. The tie is sort of a loosie. Fran offers the perps (a very attractive woman and her amour) some "chocolates", which have a singular effect on their, umm, movement. As they seek relief, Maxwell comes to the ladies' rescue. Fran is dressed in a short leather mini, black hose, knee high black leather boots and a leather jacket with pink feather trim. Val is wearing a multicolored sweater with black pants. |

Olivia (Down) is grabbed in a ladies toilet by a transvestite. She is briefly handgagged. Her hands are quickly bound behind her with the strap of a purse. Her mouth gagged with a big bandaid, and then she has her face smashed into the mirror. Things go downhill from there. Yeech. |

Next he's shown standing over her bed -- how he subdued her isn't shown -- tearing her yellow print dress into strips, which he uses to bind her spreadeagled to the bed. She manages to get a wrist and ankle free and kicks him, and he responds by putting his hand over her mouth to stifle her screams. She bites his hand, and he pulls free of her, repeatedly punching her in the face before leaving. |

| Title: Hostage (2005) Medium: Movie Actress: Serena Scott Thomas, Michelle Horn, Rumer Willis Description: The first scene occurs early in the movie and it's of the blink-and-you-missed-it variety. A woman who was being held hostage by her crazed husband (or boyfriend) is found by Bruce Willis tied in the corner with a rag shoved in her mouth. Wrists are tied behind. She has already been killed. 6 minutes in. 21 to 22 minutes in, there are 3 seperate handgag scenes with Michelle Horn. Closeups, wide eyes and all that good stuff. 30 minutes in, Michelle Horn is bound with packing tape back-to-back with her little brother and her ankles are taped together. Not gagged. A very brief flash of her as the security shields come down over the windows 32 minutes in. Little brother is in the scene, but since they are tied back to back, you don't really see him. 34 minutes in, you see them roll off the bed together in an effort to escape by breaking the bong she has hidden under the bed and using the glass to cut the tape. It doesn't work, the bad guys hear the bump and come running. They do seperate the both, but her ankles remain tied. 44 minutes in, we see 2 brief shots of Willis' wife and daughter bound (Rumer Willis, Serena Scott Thomas) wrists behind and cleave-gagged with a black cloth in the back of a van. Blink n'miss. 64 minutes in, you see Michelle's bound to a wooden lawn chair (arms to the armrests) and gagged with white tape. One of the bad guys is watching her through a cctv camers. Blink n'miss. 65 minutes in, you see a about 2 minutes of the bad guy gloating, etc, while she remains tied to the chair. She is ungagged about 35 seconds in. Closeup as he peels it off. The bad guy unties her 76 minutes in, but shows us a closeup of her restraints. 83 minutes in, Bruce Willis is handed polaroids of his wife and daughter bound and gagged like in the scene at 44min. Blink n'miss. 84 minutes in, one of the bad guys ties Michelle Horn spread eagled to her bed. Guess that is what happens to girls who have a bunch of straps, belts and scarves hanging off their 4 post bed. Scene lasts about 40 seconds. He finishes tying her up (wrists are already bound, only her left leg isn't tied up at the begining of the scene), turns off the lights and leaves. 87 minutes in, another flashback to Bruce Willis' wife and daughter. Short. A couple seconds later, you see the sister franticly trying to get freed. Her little brother is cutting the straps, but manages to get only 1 wrist (and apparantly her legs) free before the bad guy comes in. She manages to escape. A fair bit of struggling in this scene. 101, 105 minutes in, Bruce's wife and daughter are shown tied-up with sacks over their heads. There apparently gagged because you hear the "mmmmphing!", but it's not shown. all times w/o commercials |

In the first, Russian sailors capture the elderly Mrs. Everett (Merande), tie her to a chair and detective gag her with a towel. They then pick up the chair and hang it on a coat hanger screwed into the wall. When the even more elderly -- and deaf -- Mr. Everett (Parker Fennally) comes down for breakfast, he doesn't hear or notice his furiously struggling and mmmphing wife dangling three feet off the floor; he simply grumbles that she hasn't fixed his breakfast. Later in the film Lt. Rosanov (Alan Arkin) and his squad grab Walt Whitaker (Carl Reiner) and portly (OK, fat) telephone operator Alice Foss (O'Shea), tie them standing back to back and detective gag them with black cloths. An amusing scene ensues as they try to communicate through their gags in order to hop down a flight of steps; after three hops, Alice overbalances and the pair rockets head over teacup to the first floor, which manages to loosen the ropes so they can free themselves. If the bondagettes had been Eva Marie Saint (playing Walt's wife) and blonde dreamboat Andrea (Is this any way to run an airline? You bet it is!) Dromm, the movie would be a classic. |
