DiD Scenes With Great Build-Up
Watching Ti West's brilliant 80's horror homage The House Of The Devil made me appreciate great build-ups to full treatment scenes. Watching the exquisite Jocelin Donahue in the proverbial haunted house edging ever closer to her capture was sublime and perfectly encapsulated the "thrill of the chase" in other words. As much as we like the actual DiD scenes the build up to a possible scene is just as sweet and the payoff if and when it comes is even better. What other films have similar great build-ups....where you just know it'll lead to a great F/T scene? Blood Trails is another good example; lovely Rebecca Palmer spends the whole film trying to escape her tormentor only to be caught, bound and gagged...

Re: Did Scenes With Great Build-Up
Yeah build-up is half the battle. Solo with Annie Clark. Uninhabited with Geraldine Hakewill...even Olivia DeJonge in Better Watch Out:- nice build-up to a helluva nice pay-off :)

Re: DiD Scenes With Great Build-Up
Very nice. Anjanette Comer in The Baby excellent build-up to a great cleave gag scene. And of course Bridget Fonda in Single White Female. You just knew she would get the full treatment..and how; one of the best tape gag scenes in mainstream film history

Re: DiD Scenes With Great Build-Up
Can't go past Skeleton Key with Kate Hudson. Whole film felt like a great build-up to her capture. And a marvelous cleave gag pay-off

Leelee Sobieski in Joyride. Fantastic build-up but her outcome seemed inevitable

Livres à lire la nuit (Nov.)
Hi DiDs fans!
Halloween 2017 is now on line. A kind of spin-off, bringing together disguised Sara de Bosseins’ friends and members of the Yarden Agency. A few sheets are proposed in the sample of the month. Enjoy!

Eliza Dushku in the original(accept no substitutes)Wrong Turn. Felt like her scene was always goin to happen and then WOAH it was even better than you expected. Christine Lakin in Red Canyon too. Less obviously expected, but a wonderful surprise at the end of the film. Absolutely no hope of escape for her character either. Disturbing, but also very hot :)

This one is new to me - I knew of two other stills, one of them only slightly different from this one (love the expression on the ladies' faces):

The Killing of a Sacred Deer possibility
A little birdie on another site, who has a habit of making awful puns and false alerts, mentioned this film in his latest bout of poetry. Claiming Nicole Kidman and her character's teenage daughter, played by Raffey Cassidy, get taped up and gagged at the end of the movie.

Normally, I'd ignore his drivel, but the wikipedia page for the film does mention Colin Farell's character "tapes up his family members" towards the end of the plot summary, so perhaps he's telling the truth for once.

Wiki says it released in the USA on October 20th, but I haven't found any links online. Perhaps some of you will have better luck. If not, it's also scheduled to be released in the UK on November 17th. Cross your fingers, guys.

A scene is a real possibility. Been a while for Nic. Dare we hope for a nice wraparound? Something to look forward to for sure

Re: The Killing of a Sacred Deer possibility
Made by Yorgos Lanthimos, who also directed The Lobster, which had two gag scenes (most notably Léa Seydoux cleave-gagged). Minor scenes in his other films, too (Dogtooth, My Best Friend).

It so bothers me that Jennifer Aniston wanted that part and the director chose Cameron Diaz.

Reminds me of the newspapers' game for children of "Count the number of difference between the two pictures".

I could see this exercise adapted for Brian's Pagers.
E.g., A sample could run like this:

The number of rope loops would be one of the more challenging differences to spot.
Other subtle changes would be a Duct tape gag slightly longer, or one is smooth vs. the other has a single crease.

Can anyone confirm this?

Re: Scene continuity error
Missy Peregrym's legendary Rookie Blue S2 scene has a noticable error, her duct tape blindfold hangs off of her eyes in the wider shots but is still tightly clinging to her eyes in the close-ups. Pretty noticable error and not sure how it went unnoticed, unless perhaps they couldn't shoot it again for whatever reason.

Newly Discovered Betty White Scene
I was just watching a documentary on Match Game and there's a blink and miss scene of Betty White removing what looks like wide white adhesive tape from her mouth before giving her answer. It's at the 51 second mark. Link on the video page.

Anyone here remember the circumstances?
