Friday January 21 00:14:41 2011 Re: CSI: Las Vegas |
Wow, I am stunned! In light of Dita's very public status as a fetish model and personal embrace of the damsel-in distress fantasy, this comes across as pretty subversive for mainstream tv. No way that was coincidental! (though I lack context having only seen those vidcaps) |

I'm not a gag snob by any means but Kelly Giddish is superhot and seein her character helpless in any way is good. Hope those Mexican cartel guys toss some AOH action in there for me. |

Friday January 21 05:02:49 2011 Parks and Recreation |
Last night's episode of Parks and Recreation had a re-cap segment at the beginning which included a short scene where Amy Poehler was chained to an iron fence (in protest, I think) which turned out to be a gate. Not in database. Anybody see the episode this was in originally, or have any other information about it? |

There aren't many who HAVEN'T > had the treatment at some point. There's no rhyme or reason to it. Uber-hottie Jessica Alba has been bound and gagged numerous times while, inexplicably, ultra-muffin Jennifer Love Hewitt has avoided being tied up like it was toxic waste. I still hold onto the faintest hope that some obscure film or TV series from the 60's or early seventies has a scene with Raquel Welch in it. That this possibly hottest babe of all time didn't ever get the full treatment is the DiD crime of the century, IMO. |

Dita played a dual role. Her gag scene was of a flashback of her grandmother getting kidnapped and beheaded. her main character had no scene. Yet i was recording thinking we were in favoring of something. Keep in mind too, she was never tied just gagged |

Not for this one, though. I've never liked that scene. As they once chanted to Jeff Hardy in TNA: "Overrated!" |

Emma Fielding's character (Naomi) was briefly gagged again early in the episode by her kidnappers in South Africa. Then at the very end after being released and returning to the UK she was handgagged while her daughter was chloroed and taken away. The head of the kidnappers had just rung Naomi to say she had broken some agreement they had made |

Friday January 21 12:45:55 2011 First New Angel |
Entertainment Weekly has reported that ABC has cast the first Angel in it's Charlies Angel reboot (and if you didn't hear it looks like Robert Wagner will be the voice of Charlie). You can read about the first gal here: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/01/20/meet-charlies-first-angel-pic/ My take from just one pic is that I am not impressed in the slightest. The good news is that a bunch of the talk-backers below the article talk about how beautiful she is (she is on General Hospital now playing Maya) so it might just be a bad pic they used, but the bad news is many others talk about what a rotten actress she is. Your take on all of this may vary. |

My Picks would be the following actresses: Gabrielle Union Katie Cassidy or Laura Vandervoort Summer Glau ( even though the Script calls for Hispanic Actress) Yes. I know Laura V and Summer have series on TV this Season....but both are ratings "challenged" and one or both I could see in these roles. |

Just to reiterate, a new version of "Charlie's Angels" has been ordered by ABC. (Either a pilot has been ordered or it's been "given the go ahead", depending on which blog you read.) Anyhoo, it's been moved from LA to Miami, Robert Wagner may be the voice of Charlie, and that's about all we "know" for sure. Personally, I'm not worried about the Angels. I don't care if three unknowns are cast. If unknown hotties never got their chance, we wouldn't have Cote de Pablo as Ziva David to frustrate the hell out of us all every time we watch a new episode of NCIS. ;-) My worry (or concern) is the writing. We need another tired, derivative crime drama like... we need another tired, derivative crime drama. OF COURSE I want hot actresses in DiD-situations, but something entertaining to watch would be nice. I want good writers, and producers who have the brains and balls to get out of their way. And who can forget the last time we got burned by a New Charlie's Angels series? Tea Leoni, Claire Yartlett, Sandra Canning (who?), and Robin Dearden as the Angels? ...and it got buried by the frakkin' writer's strike and NEVER HAPPENED?? AAAAARGH! Somewhere in the multiverse there's a quantum reality with the 1988 Angels writhing in bondage and mewling through gags while timebombs tick, rooms slowly fill with water, tarantulas crawl towards them, etc., etc. ...and one of them is TEA LEONI!! AAAAARGH! |

Van wrote: >Robin Dearden as the Angels? Robin Dearden was inline for a Angels remake years ago? Never heard that. The biggest problem with these shows is they are all doomed to be canceled unless the network is really behind the show. Only one remake has lasted so far, Hawaii Five-O, and that's ONLY because CBS put it in a golden time slot on Monday night. If it didn't have a lead-in, it would be long gone. |

> Van wrote: > >Robin Dearden as the Angels? > Robin Dearden was inline for a Angels remake years ago? > Never heard that. The only actress that I remember being cast in the unmade Charlie's Angels was Karen Kopins, who had a memorable scene in "Once Bitten". That being said, and at the risk of throwing cold water on some pleasant speculation, you should remember that the original Charlie's Angels was abysmal... It was beset with terrible writing, acting and directing - and the topper was the lack of production of any decent bondage scenes. It had 116 episodes, and by my highly subjective count, exactly ONE decent scene - Kate Jackson in the "Magic Fire" episode. The other scenes all consisted of either very loose bondage, no gags, or both. There were six angels during the course of the series - Only two of them were ever gagged - Jackson and Shelly Hack, whose one scene was pathetic. Of the other four angels, two would finally get decent scenes in other projects - Cheryl Ladd and Tanya Roberts; but Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith never did. The latino version of the show - "Angeles" did much better, but it remains to be seen whether a new version in the US will produce anything of interest for us, or whether its going to be another feminst rewrite, with the angels kicking butt and never getting into any kind of distress (anybody been watching "Nikita" this year?) |

Friday January 21 21:28:09 2011 Fringe |
A scene popped up on tonight's episode of Fringe, which is still airing here in the east. About 10 minutes in, Olivia Cheng is found sitting on the floor during a robbery, tied hand and foot, and gagged with a piece of duct tape. One of the recurring weird guys removes the tape and lets her use her asthma inhaler when he stops the robbery. |

Friday January 21 21:44:46 2011 "Black Death" Movie |
March 2011 will (supposedly) see a limited release of "Black Death" in US theaters. 1348, plague ravages England, the church sends a band of knights to investigate rumors of a necromancer in an isolated village, etc., etc. It sounds superficially similar to "Season of the Witch" (or not). Anyhoo... all you fans of pretty Dutch blondes being locked in scolds bridles... this looks like your movie. The blonde in question is Carice van Houten. I hope she doesn't come to a *very* bad end before the final credits, but I'm not optimistic. |

Van wrote: > Personally, I'm not worried about the Angels. > My worry (or concern) is the writing. Me too but for another reason. I don't understand the interest and hype about this show, it's as if the original was a DIDfest and it was anything but. Farrah and Jaclyn Smith never got gagged and except for the episode with the two blondes in the van it was a snooz fest for DID. The original show, which launched just after the Patty Hearst kidnapping, was vehement in it's anti DID stance as stated by Aaron Spelling who said in TV Guide at the time "we won't have anyone bound and gagged in a closet", a clear reference to the painful Hearst story. |
