This is one I have wanted to see again ever since it first broadcast. As I remember in 'the Seeds of Doom' Sarah was tied up three times, the second time as an experiment with her arm clamped to a bench in order to be infected by the tentacle from a hatching alien plant pod, rescued just in time by The Doctor. At the end she is bound hand and foot by the villain and placed in a crusher, again rescued by The Doctor and in the struggle the villain falls into the crusher. Sarah tries to turn the machine off but is unable to reach the switch having her hands tied behind, the image of her jumping up and down to try to get to the switch has stayed with me (a bit like a better version of 'Nightwatch').

I could be suffering from scene creep but it does correspond with the paperback book 'Doctor Who and the Seeds of Doom' by Philip Hinchcliffe (script Robert Banks Stewart), ISBN 0 426 11658 5 published in 1977 by Target Books, W.A.Allen and Co. Ltd. (yes I bought the book - that’s how taken I was with the scene ;-) )

[332] Dog and Cat
The episode is "Dead Dog and Cat" (1.1). The scene occurs at the end of the same episode in which Jennifer Shaw receives full treatment.

Record number: 11934

Title: Doctor Who (1963)
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Elisabeth Sladen

Description: Episode: "The Seeds of Doom"

In Part 1, Sarah Jane and the Doctor are tied up in a shack in the Antarctic, with a bomb set to blow. They escape but get knocked out in the explosion and despite being somewhat underdressed for the climate, survive overnight.

In Part 6, Sarah Jane comes across the villain, who is by then a crazed agent of the krynoid plant and trying to destroy all animal life. He knocks Sarah Jane out with a wrench (offscreen) then ties her unconscious body in the tray of a composter, in order to mince her to nourish his beloved plant life. Fortunately the Doctor is on hand to rescue her and save the day
