"I'm declaring that my initial identification of the actress tied up with Seipp as Katia Schkolnik to be correct." Yeah, looking it over now. "correct film title is The Blue Iguana" Yeah, missed. Don't tell Brian about that. "Michele Seipp, Katia Schkolnik, Jessica Harper" Got it "Unless someone can provide hard evidence to the contrary" Not necessary, as David said it when basing on websites, and the name associated with the correction a good guy. So I've edited the description to what you've posted. |

Oops, unfortunate typo on my part. "cleage-gagged" should be...well, you know. Figured someone might want to search on it. Sorry for the inconvenience. |

This movie is a different interpretation of John Buchan's book, rather than a remake of either of the Hitchcock versions. The ending, with the abductions, is new.
After her chloroforming, Ms Dotrice's character is seen still unconscious in an attic or upstairs room, with hands tied above her head IIRC. No gag. The boat is a police steam launch, with the slimy bad guy disguised as a cop. Damsel and dad are crammed together in a confined space in the cabin, and that gag is very tight. The material is in fact quite thin and stretchy. It doesn't shift as Ms D writhes about, trying to dislodge it. Her stifled "mmmphs" are interspersed with the laboured hiss of her nasal breathing as the gag distorts her face. She is wearing a long white Edwardian dress. Actually, there are two scenes aboard the boat - one in motion, one moored by the Houses of Parliament. |

Quote
" Abducted by Klansmen, she's tied to a tree by her wrists, apparently in preparation for a whipping, which isn't delivered. Instead, she's left there as a message for the lawyer she's assisting." Suggest ============================================= She has been assisting a lawyer defending a race victim and is stopped at night by Klansmen who are in the Police. She is bundled into the Police Car and taken to the woods where a Klan meeting is in progress. We see her wrists bound in front as she is taken from the car and then a close-up of her wrists being tied AOH facing a tree. Her clothes are torn and she is told that she is going to be left there, naked, to die in the sun the following day if not previously killed by wild animals during the night. Later one of the Klansmen relents and returns to rescue her. He wraps his coat around her and alarms her by producing a knife, but then uses it cut to the rope fastening her to the tree. He carries her, wrists still bound in front, to his truck. Not as good a scene as it sounds (apart from the close-ups of tying her wrists to the tree) as most of the other shots are of her face, and arms still in the sleeves of her dress, while she is being threatened. Not well lit as at night and she looks as if she has been beaten. If Sandra Bullock was really naked during the filming any shots showing this were removed. Scene starts after 1 hr 40 minutes (100 minutes) without adverts (UK BBC broadcast) |
