Just another unusual/rare clip that was taken from a Japan tv serie. The female police detective was knocked down and tied up in asian fashion (hands behind, rope around torso and cleave gagged) by a desperate father who wants (if i've understood well) to exchange our heroine for the killer of her daughter, now in the hands of the police. |

Tuesday October 12 05:50:10 2010 Aussie HD/HQ request |
I was wondering, does anyone have this classic scene from McLeod's Daughters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FK1qjSr7SI on HD or HQ format? Also does anyone have Nikki Whelan's scene from Nighbhours and Brooke Satchwell's scene from the series Water Rats (it's in two back to back episodes one called Final Chapter and the other Silent Running she plays a character called Sophie)in HD or even HQ? Thanks in advance! |

Ooops sorry then! I guess i missed them when you uploaded them! Thanks for the links! Does anyone know if the gorgeous muss Satchwell has any other scenes? There aren;t any more in the database, but this doesn't necesserily mean that they don't exist any more of them! |

Sam wrote: > No raw TS this time? Sam, The ones I have were too big to upload because I also captured non-B&G parts I wanted for my own enjoyment. The problem with these transport stream files is their huge size. If I capture more than 9-10 minutes, it's too big to upload. That was the case with the Knight Rider scene where the last part with Liberty and the bomb lasted almost 10 minutes. The other alternative is to make smaller, multiple captures which comes with it's own problems. I have a few, like "Funny Games" that's in eight parts with files sizes ranging from 80 to 550 MB. At the upload speeds I'm getting, it would take around 3 1/2 hours to upload all of it to MU. Capturing really small clips with just the B&G parts of a few seconds is difficult with the HD-PVR software. I'm currently evaluating some software that allows you to edit .ts files without re-encoding but, until then, the content will dictate the HD format. |

Well, in that case I can already tell you of one great piece of kit for editing MPEG files (whether in a TS or MPG container). It's called VideoReDo, and I use it almost daily for lossless editing. It's quite simple to use and doesn't really need any setting up. The most important thing is that it allows for direct trimming of MPEG files without any need to re-encode. Bear in mind there's also HJSplit (freeware), which can split a file into multiple parts; this may solve your large file problem, so I highly recommend that. Either way, here's a RAR containing the VideoReDo program: |

Btw, just to clarify on the above: I uploaded it to Megaupload because that version is warez'ed and will have all the functions that the freeware version (from their own site) does not. Also, HJSplit can be used for any type of file (in this case your TS caps) for the purpose of splitting them. Just select what filesize you want each chunk to be, and it'll create them. Then, when someone wants to use that file after downloading the parts, HJSplit will join them back together. It's basically a simpler alternative to using WinRAR to split files. |

Madfish, have you used or can anyone recommend a USB interface that will do that? I've been scouting around and found a ton (see Amazon), but nothing really strikes me as great. I think I may bite the bullet and just buy one and see how it goes. I'm not crazy about spending a ton of dough, but fortunately a number of them can be had for under $50.... Any thoughts? Anyone? |

The ones posted so far are TS and they crash my computer. On the conversion to WM, the sound gets pretty distorted. No big deal because the caps are great, but just wanted to see if anyone had it. |

Oh, and one more thing: if it gives you an error message saying "no PIDS" or something like that when you load a file, do tell me so I can guide you through it. It seems to be the one flaw with that program from time to time. |

Anyone? The one I use is USB, but it's $185 and requires a PC with a fair amount of memory and processing power. I went with that one because at the time I bought it, I was still using a laptop and I wanted to capture Hi Def. For standard def, there's a lot of suitable USB cards that would work within your price range. The StarTech SVD2USB2 seems to get good reviews although I've never used it. Your VCR-DVD will work. I transferred maybe 100 VHS tapes of scenes and commercial vids that way, but it was very labor intensive and probably why I burned both of mine out quickly. Also, with DVDs if you're copying a scene that's only a few seconds you'll probably need to copy at least two full minutes before writing a track to the disc. Otherwise, it may not be readable. |
