| Here's a rare oldie from 1961 I converted last year from an old VHS copy I purchased several years ago and dug up from the back of the closet. I'm thankful I found it before the tape degraded as this is one I remember fondly from my youth. It's one of the earliest tape-gag scenes that I know of and has the three elements I enjoy about tape gags: tape placed over the damsels mouth, outline of the lips through the tape, and tape being removed. It used to be re-broadcast regularly before programmers started replacing that airspace with infommercials. I keep searching for it, but haven't seen it re-broadcast for several years. It's a mystery as to why since this was Gary Cooper's last movie before he died. |

They are high definition media files, you need VLC Player to watch. |

| Kaman posted an alert recently about this handgag scene of Linda Darnell from the 50s. I'd never heard of it before, but it's one of the best handgag scenes. In honor of this new find, I'm doing a Handgag Sunday with some of the other "best of" handgag scenes. You know, you can type in the word "handgag" and get hundreds of hits on Google and a list of several scenes on YouTube. It's a term that's pretty common, but I'm fairly certain that term originated right here on Brian's Page. |
