Did you just make those vidcaps from the copy in your collection? The quality of the images is excellent. Why is one of them larger than the others? If you don't mind me asking, do you have any more? By the way, here are a couple of corrections: Her name is spelled Alison Robertson. The scene originally aired in 2004 April 16, 19, 20. I recorded the scene at the time, so I do have it in my collection. However, I still wanted to see if there were vidcaps and a video link online. I wrote the database entry for this scene. |

Usually i don't comment scenes with damsels tied hands in front without further restraints who keep them from removing the gag. I consider them stupid and insignificant. But this one is still great and i regret the kind of tie-up shown. Had the damsel been tied hands behind it could have made the top 10 ever. Still a great scene because of chloroform scene, facial expression of the victim, barefoot, girl on girl. Almost all my fetishes are concentrated in this clip. Thank you again Madfish. |

I'll take some snapshots, then pick my three favorites to use as preview pics of the video. The ones for this one got messed up in the batch process I use to resize them. Usually, I just make caps only for this purpose. I finally got MPC to play video correctly, so here's a few I took from there. |

Here's the link to download MPC so you can make your own caps from videos. Just do an Alt-I to make a screen cap. |

I didn't think HD was that common in 2004? I have to ask. Do you have the Kassie DePaiava tape-gag scene from OLTL? I'd pay money to see that in higher quality than I have. Thanks for the capping link. I'm going to try that. |

Here's one that I haven't heard much (if anything) about. It's from a 1991 FOX TV-Movie about the drug trade. The DiD betrays her friends to the bad guys and ends up getting betrayed herself. It doesn't end well for her. I'm not sure, but I think the DiD might be Lisa Lord. Here's a picture of her. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0520461/ Her character's name is listed as Lily on IMDb, but the villain clearly calls her Lydia. |

Soaps in HD has only been around for few years, but the major networks in the larger cities have been broadcasting in digital for the past 10 years at least. Are you referring to the OLTL scene where she's B&G in the trunk of a car? |

MadFish, how are you making these Xvids? I notice there's a lot of interlace artefacts (the jagged lines) which should've been ironed out during the encoding process, and the aspect ratios aren't quite correct. I encode Xvids to release group standards all the time, so I'm just curious to know your settings/what program you use. |

These soap scenes came from a DVD-R I burned. Before I started capturing directly from DVR, I was using a standalone DVD-recorder to archive. The jagged lines at top have something to do with the way my PC plays back these DVDs, so the jagged edges are in the video source I encode from. However, they aren't present when I play these discs on a standalone DVD player. I rip them from the disc using Wondershare DVD Ripper. Here are the settings I use, but have no idea if they are the ones I should be using. I'd welcome any suggestions for improving the quality of the video. The ones with the screwed up aspect ratio that come from my DVR are the result of the ouput settings of the DVR itself. It's correctable, but has to be done manually. Since I primarily watch HD programming, It's set to 1080i (original aspect). I wish the DVR would auto-detect the settings, but it doesn't. |

First off: the jagged lines are the result of something called interlacing, which in itself is a very tricky topic to cover. All I can say is the reason you don't see those lines on your normal DVD player is because TV sets do the job of de-interlacing by themselves; that is, turning an interlaced image into a progressive one (hence the "i" and "p" at the end of 1080i or 720p). When we play DVDs (or any raw MPEG-2/H.264 material) on our PCs, however, we have to do it ourselves. In the case of MPC, there's a whole bunch of filters you have to set up first. With VLC it's a bit easier, but still very cumbersome and downright annoying. Even in this day and age, it's not exactly made easy for us! Other people have asked me on Rob's forum as to how they should go about making/editing AVIs, so it seems like it's a topic that's gathering interest. What I've promised to do is write up a comprehensive guide on all that stuff. I can't do it right now, but I'll get to work on it. Hopefully it should go some way to explaining all this 1080i/720p business, along with how the pros ("release groups") make the standard clips we see all the time. |
