| Does anybody have this rare scene please? Title: Star Trap (1988) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Frances Tomelty Description: The beautiful Ms. Tomelty plays an Oxford Professor with sidelines in writing detective novels and amateur sleuthing. Talk about your cliches! It IS very good nonetheless. Captured by a crazed thespian playing the role of Richard III, she is placed at the bottom of the shaft containing the half-ton counterweight for a stage star trap! She sits on the floor, her knees up, her hands bound in front palm to palm as if in prayer! She is gagged with a wad of green silky cloth which spills out of her mouth. The wad is held in place by white crepe bandage which has been wound so as to cleave tightly between her teeth and run, conventionally, round the back of her neck. A second, or possibly the same, length of crepe bandage is wound outside of her mouth so as to secure the protuding part of the wad. This length runs diagonally behind the back of her head and over her philtrum! Either they wanted to portray a hurriedly applied and untidy but effective gag, or the director has interesting tastes? Anyway, a marvellous exposition/gloat by the villainous thespian ensues. He slangs off her novels and, while our helpless heroine looks at him pleadingly with her huge dark Irish eyes, explains the mechanism of the star trap and how, come Act 5, Scene 3 and the appearence of the ghost, she will be well and trully squished! Good stuff! The scene is of reasonable length, well lit and with excellent facial close-up/reaction shots. Oh, by the way, she does not get squished. |

Later, she is taken hostage and led to a boat. There she is bound hand and foot and very tightly gagged with a strip of black cloth between the teeth. There are many scenes with her all trussed up like this and she later ends up struggling to free herself and unfortunately succeeds. 1080p HD H.264 ; MP4 |

The nine victims consist of seven men, Melissa and Lucille. Melissa's kidnapping is hinted at about 5 minutes into the movie, as she is accosted in a parking lot, and the assailant points a taser at her. The scene then shifts to the warehouse where all nine victims stand against posts which are set in a semicircle, wrists cuffed behind them to the post, and hoods on their heads. The kidnapper removes the hoods revealing that they are all gagged with duct tape, but pulls the tape off immediately. On his way out of the room, a push button frees one hand for each of the captives, and they remain that way for the rest of the movie - one wrist cuffed to the post, and no other bonds. The glimpse of Melissa with her mouth taped lasts approx. 1.5 seconds, Lucille's perhaps 2. |

She is caught by them and ends up tied to a chair. After she tries talking to the men the head henchman orders her gagged. Then he steps in to complete the gagging job by tightening the black cloth gag tied behind her head. A bomb is set to go off and several scenes show her struggling against her bonds. She is later rescued by a man, but not before he disarms the bomb. All that time she is mumbling something through the gag to tell him that she is better qualified to disarm it. 1080p HD H.264 ; MP4 |
