| New episodes of this French TV series of loose adaptations of Agatha Christie novels start airing at the end of this month in France. The network posted this clip from an episode with the show's blonde bombshell secretary played by Elodie French bound and gagged, discovered by the heroes and released. Hopefully just the conclusion of a longer sequence in the actual episode. |

Both are gagged with "period" leather over the mouth gags. As the prop man approaches to apply her gag and the director instructs her to give the scene her all Ms. Slowe says something like, "Am I to be gagged? OK then, but make it really tight. I want to really go for it." As the cameras roll the aforesaid deranged historian rides onto the scene and the execution gets a tad too realistic! Really serious mmmphing and struggling from both ladies. Both scenes are prolonged, well lit and with loads of varied camera angles and facial close-ups. |

And yes, this meant a lot of quick cuts and almost none of the full-body shots, so it's not going to be for everyone...but it's nice to have options, right? Some of these re-edits I'm doing of the iTunes TV scenes are downright brutal in how I'm cropping out almost all build-up & post-scene material to make them as compact as possible (for consistency rather than filesize reasons). Almost jarringly, some of them now begin mere seconds before a damsel is suddenly captured, rather than the elaborate 'damsel-walking-around-blissfully-unaware' sequences that I used to leave in. Definitely not for everyone, but those are the breaks. |
