Versions of the film usually aired on British TV are the same, but the first cut I ever saw (also on TV) had a scene in which Redford started by saying, "I need your car." He proceeded to tie her up against her protestations, and just before he gagged her, she said, "This is not fair!" There were several almost-closeups of her face being gagged and struggling as Redford left. The order of scenes is also changed in subsequent versions; the original sequence made the narrative much clearer. |

| Elyssa Davalos, a very cute starlet, finds herself captured by the bad guys who want her land (Let's hear it for originality). Around 1:30 in the movie we see her sitting in a chair in a corner of the cave, as it were, hands tied in front and ropes around her body. Later she's in a chair hanging over an open mine shaft as they try to force her to sign a deed (that's why her hands are still tied in front.) No gag ever, but heck, she's in a mine, who ya gonna call? Scene goes on for a long time as the rope slowly frays and the hero fights the bad guys--straight out of an old serial.
The movie has played several times on the Westerns channel, may turn up again. |

When the van pulls over, she is thrown out the door (mysteriously without the aforementioned gag!) Brief scene towards the end of the movie, but not bad. |
