Rizzoli & Isles
Day: Tuesday July 17 2012
Time: 9 PM ET/PT
Channel: TNT
Episode: "Crazy For You" (S03Ep07)

(This is based on info from a "Rizzoli & Isles" spoiler site.) Jane gets a stalker and at some point captures her in her own apartment. In an interview, Angie Harmon says she spent eight hours "handcuffed to a bed" during the filming. No other details are available as I type this on July 8th. I'm hoping Jane is gagged, at least for a while, and will be wearing her usual PJ's of tank-top and boxer-style shorts... but who isn't?

The Big Empty
Day: Tuesday July 17 2012
Time: 5:30 PM Eastern
Channel: Showtime Extreme
Record number: 10348

Title: The Big Empty (2003)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Rachael Leigh Cook

Description: In this limited-release comedy with a sci-fi bent, Ruthie (Cook) is kidnapped offscreen by her lovesick ex-boyfriend Randy (Adam Beach). 48 minutes in, our hero John (Jon Favreau) finds Randy holding her in a junkyard, tied up in the back of a truck. Wearing a flowery blouse and jeans, she's cleave-gagged with a red bandanna, her hands are taped in front and tied to her knees with a leather strap, and her ankles are bound with a wide cloth. "She broke up with me!" Randy shouts. "So you tied her up?" John shouts back incredulously.

Meanwhile, Randy's threatening John with a chainsaw, so John decides to buy himself some insurance by holding a gun on Ruthie. This gives her an opportunity for some great emoting (and some great closeups). Randy backs off, and John pulls down Ruthie's gag. "YOU WERE GOING TO SHOOT ME!" she screams, which is all the excuse John needs to put the gag right back on and carry her to his van, still bound and gagged. As he does so, he admonishes Randy: "This is not how you treat a woman. You don't kidnap a woman. You don't tie her to a chair." (Well, actually, in the final cut of the movie, he didn't -- but see below.) "You don't put a gag in a woman's mouth!"

A few moments later, we see John dropping Ruthie off at home, no longer gagged but still bound (or so we infer). "It's alright, Mom, he rescued me," she explains. "It wasn't him that tied me up, it was Randy." "Randy did this to you?" Mom asks. Ruthie just smiles coyly, and John stoops to lift her out of the van.

But that's not all, because the DVD offers more great extras for us than literally any other that I can remember. Turns out that, as originally written, Randy grabs Ruthie a *second* time, as shown in three consecutive deleted scenes (starting with the one entitled "Goin' for a Ride") and one extended scene ("Randy's Speech in Desert"). First she's handgagged, and moments later, we see her gagged with the same red cloth and tied to a chair in the back of a pickup truck. The bondage in this sequence isn't actually all that convincing -- it seems to consist primarily of a sweater that's loosely tied around the chair and her torso, and her ankles don't appear to be bound at all -- but once again, the emoting and closeups are top-notch. (Not to mention that her blouse this time around is a lot more low-cut.)

Still not enough, you say? Be sure to check out the commentary tracks for both the junkyard scene in the film itself and the second deleted scene in particular. After various comments about how Cook seemed to spend half of the filming process bound and gagged (and about how freezing she was during the pickup scene), the director goes on in both cases to describe an incident that happened during the filming: gas was leaking from the vehicle, the crew were scattering in panic, and Cook could only sit there tied to the chair. This struck me as somewhat odd, due to the aforementioned lack-of-convincing-bondage factor -- but the director tells us that Cook will never let him forget it, so who knows.

Angel
Day: Tuesday July 17 2012
Time: 7:00 AM Eastern
Channel: TNT
Record number: 9792

Title: Angel (1999)
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Amy Acker

Description: Episode: "Why We Fight" (5.13)

In this partial flashback episode, a vampire returns after six decades to avenge his martyrdom (as he sees it) during WWII by taking Angel's friends hostage and threatening to kill them. Yes, it's about as forced as it sounds, but it does lead to the full treatment for Fred (Acker). We first see her tied to a chair at the 15-minute mark (including commercials). While the three quick shots at this point -- two long shots and one close-up -- total all of three seconds, they do show off her cute skirt, legs, hands-to-chair-arms bondage, and a surprisingly credible detective gag.

Cut to the 30-minute mark. Just before the commercial, we see Fred standing on a chair: still gagged, tied hands behind (though see below) and ankles together, with a noose around her neck. Lamentably, her colleagues Wesley and Gunn are in a similar predicament on either side of her.

Back from commercial, the scene continues. Finally, just to keep the every-15-minute thing going, the sequence concludes with a final scene beginning at the 45-minute mark. There's a lot more didactic dialogue than distressed damsel, and there's also one unfortunate shot from behind in which it looks very much as though Fred's wrists aren't actually tied at all. Still, we do get a few rather nice close-ups of Acker (who pouts nicely) and her gag as the action unfolds, so far be it from me to consider this sequence unworthy.

Time: 12:30 AM Eastern
Channel: MeTV
Record number: 3463

Title: The Untouchables (1959)
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Madlyn Rhue

Description: Episode: "The Tommy Karpeles Story" (2.11)

Tied with her wrists apart to the chair arms and (as seen in only one brief, long full shot) her ankles were also tied. She was gagged with a long piece of white tape that nearly went from ear-to-ear. There were a couple of nice face close-ups.

When her father (gangster Tommy Karpeles of the episode title) enters and demands the kidnappers untie her, she tries to motion with her eyes that there's a gunman behind him, and as soon as her hands are freed she pulls the tape off her face and yells out a warning -- too late. Ms. Rhue was wearing a form-fitting suit jacket with matching skirt and black heels.
