Giallo
Day: Friday July 13 2012
Time: 1:20 AM Eastern
Channel: TMC
Record number: 15673

Title: Giallo (2009)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Valentina Izumi, Elsa Pataky

Description: Typical slasher film from Dario Argento. A cab driver wants to destroy beauty, so he kidnaps his attractive passengers and disfigures them.

Nine minutes in, Valentina Izumi is accosted in the cab, and finds herself tied hand and foot on the floor of the deserted warehouse that the killer uses. She struggles on the floor wearing a minidress or slip as the killer takes flash photos of her, which illuminate another victim laying spreadeagled and dead on a table.

By 21 minutes in, Elsa has also taken a ride in the cab, and is tied on the floor with her wrists in front of her, and her ankles tied. She watches as Valentina is tortured on the table. The action cuts back and forth between the police pursuit and the warehouse until 33 minutes in, when Valentina's presumed corpse is dumped on the floor next to Elsa.

Elsa is then tied to the table so that she can be tortured. She is also wearing a minidress or minislip. Her wrists are still tied in front of her, and her ankles are tied, and a rope around her waist secures her to the table. Lots of forgettable conversation between her and the killer, until she manages to slip her hands free, slug the killer and run off. A short chase and she is again recaptured.

The final shot of her occurs just before the credits at 1:26, when she is left in the back of a van, gagged, with a black cleave, and still tied with her wrists in front of her. She kicks the van with her tied ankles to try and attract help. Elsa's body is covered with blood at this point, but her gagged face is fairly clean.

A Clockwork Orange
Day: Friday July 13 2012
Time: 8:00 PM Eastern
Channel: Sony Movie Channel
Record number: 2441

Title: A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Adrienne Corri

Description: After she falls for the old "There's been an accident, may I use your phone?" trick, she gets lifted over the shoulder of one the baddies who invade her home. He holds her standing with her hands behind as the lead baddie Alex (Malcolm McDowell) proceeds to gag her with a red ball and transparent adhesive tape, then cuts off her red pantsuit (starting at her breasts), all the while belting out a rendition of "Singing in the Rain".

The scene occurs in the first 30 minutes. Also of interest is a pop art painting of a woman who appears to be bound and gagged, seen during a second home invasion about 25' later. It's never shown in closeup, though.

She is tied down to a table, and eventually gagged with tape wrapped around her head. After some torment, she reaches an unfortunate end. Later, the beautiful reheaded Texeira is caught, and she is tied to a chair and also gagged with black tape around her head. Lengthy scene, plenty of mmphs to be had.

Cat People
Day: Friday July 13 2012
Time: 6:30 AM Eastern
Channel: MoMax
Record number: 183

Title: Cat People (1982)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Nastassja Kinski aka Anastasiya Kinski aka Nastassia Kinski aka Nastassja Nakszynski

Description: Near the end of the film she is spreadeagled nude on a bed, then the hero procedes to have consensual sex with her. One of the best spreadeagles on screen.

Most broadcast-TV and basic-cable editions of this film delete this scene in its entirety, but some broadcast late at night show a short, heavily edited version which emphasizes the tying of Kinski's wrists and ankles, but includes neither any full-figure shots of her nor an explicit depiction of the sex. Both are present in abundance, of course, in the premium-cable version.

The Big Empty
Day: Friday July 13 2012
Time: 2:45 PM Eastern
Channel: Showtime Next
Record number: 10348

Title: The Big Empty (2003)
Medium: Movie
Actress: Rachael Leigh Cook

Description: In this limited-release comedy with a sci-fi bent, Ruthie (Cook) is kidnapped offscreen by her lovesick ex-boyfriend Randy (Adam Beach). 48 minutes in, our hero John (Jon Favreau) finds Randy holding her in a junkyard, tied up in the back of a truck. Wearing a flowery blouse and jeans, she's cleave-gagged with a red bandanna, her hands are taped in front and tied to her knees with a leather strap, and her ankles are bound with a wide cloth. "She broke up with me!" Randy shouts. "So you tied her up?" John shouts back incredulously.

Meanwhile, Randy's threatening John with a chainsaw, so John decides to buy himself some insurance by holding a gun on Ruthie. This gives her an opportunity for some great emoting (and some great closeups). Randy backs off, and John pulls down Ruthie's gag. "YOU WERE GOING TO SHOOT ME!" she screams, which is all the excuse John needs to put the gag right back on and carry her to his van, still bound and gagged. As he does so, he admonishes Randy: "This is not how you treat a woman. You don't kidnap a woman. You don't tie her to a chair." (Well, actually, in the final cut of the movie, he didn't -- but see below.) "You don't put a gag in a woman's mouth!"

A few moments later, we see John dropping Ruthie off at home, no longer gagged but still bound (or so we infer). "It's alright, Mom, he rescued me," she explains. "It wasn't him that tied me up, it was Randy." "Randy did this to you?" Mom asks. Ruthie just smiles coyly, and John stoops to lift her out of the van.

But that's not all, because the DVD offers more great extras for us than literally any other that I can remember. Turns out that, as originally written, Randy grabs Ruthie a *second* time, as shown in three consecutive deleted scenes (starting with the one entitled "Goin' for a Ride") and one extended scene ("Randy's Speech in Desert"). First she's handgagged, and moments later, we see her gagged with the same red cloth and tied to a chair in the back of a pickup truck. The bondage in this sequence isn't actually all that convincing -- it seems to consist primarily of a sweater that's loosely tied around the chair and her torso, and her ankles don't appear to be bound at all -- but once again, the emoting and closeups are top-notch. (Not to mention that her blouse this time around is a lot more low-cut.)

Still not enough, you say? Be sure to check out the commentary tracks for both the junkyard scene in the film itself and the second deleted scene in particular. After various comments about how Cook seemed to spend half of the filming process bound and gagged (and about how freezing she was during the pickup scene), the director goes on in both cases to describe an incident that happened during the filming: gas was leaking from the vehicle, the crew were scattering in panic, and Cook could only sit there tied to the chair. This struck me as somewhat odd, due to the aforementioned lack-of-convincing-bondage factor -- but the director tells us that Cook will never let him forget it, so who knows.
