Record number: 192 Title: The Collector (1965) Medium: Movie Actress: Samantha Eggar Description: Based on John Fowles' novel classic damsel-in-distress novel, "The Collector." In the beginning of the movie villain Ferdy chloroforms Miranda and she ends up with her hands and feet tied together, also gagged with cloth over her mouth. In the next scene, she is moved from her room in an out building to the mansion to take a shower. Terrence Stamp binds her wrists behind her back, but when he takes out a black cloth, she tells him a gag won't be necessary. With her wrists tied still tied, she stops on the path to allow the wind to blow through her hair. Later in the film she is taking a bath when a neighbor rings the doorbell to the collector's house. He rushes in and gags her with a towel stuffed in her mouth and held in place by a black cloth, and ties her hands to a pipe. While Ferdy talks to the neighbor, Miranda tries to alert him to her predicament by turning on a spiggot which causes the bathroom tub to overflow. Ferdy explains that the plumbing frequently leaks and rushes into the bathroom to tighten Miranda's gag and deal with the water problem. Very extended scene. There is a pretty good scene in the butterfly room. After the girl makes some comments about his horrible butterfly collection, a chase around the room insues. He locks a door and cuts off her escape; herds her back into the room and chloroforms her. Then there is the scene next to the fireplace with her hands tied in front but no gag. He unties her hands and she undresses for him but he spurns her advances. ("Spurns". Is that the right word?) |

When the hero arrives, she is quickly gagged with a cloth held over her mouth by a tie which is wrapped over her mouth. She is hustled out of the disco and into a warehouse, where a super ninja is setting a trap. She is left roped to a railing to watch the fight as the bad guy takes off to gloat. Fairly lengthy scene, with several closeups. Occurs in the last third of the movie. |

Record number: 3454 Title: The Corpse Came C.O.D (1947) aka The Corpse Came COD Medium: Movie Actress: Joan Blondell Description: So-so comedy/mystery with the emphasis on the former, unfortunately. Two reporters are out to scoop one another on why a very dead body was mailed to a rather surprised man. At about 70 minutes in, Joan confronts a hood who has been searching an apartment. A bit later, the male reporter comes into the room, and overpowers the hood. Hearing noise coming from the closet, he opens it to find Joan sitting on the floor tied hand and foot, and gagged with a white cloth OTM. He pulls down her gag and pulls her to her feet so that he can free her hands. The hood takes off, with the male reporter in pursuit. Joan has to bend down to untie her own ankles before she can follow. |

No gags. |

Record number: 15443 Title: Fringe Medium: TV Series Actress: Anna Torv Description: Episode: "Immortality" (3.13) At roughly 30 minutes (not counting commercials), Fauxlivia (Olivia Dunham from the other side) is knocked unconcious and when she wakes up she is sitting in a chair with her hands handcuffed behind her. There is a slightly sideways closeup of her hands, before the camera position changes to further away, hands still visible in shot. (Although it appears her hands have shifted position a bit, poor editing...) After a scene elsewhere, we are back with Fauxlivia and she can be seen from the front (far away shot) with her hands obviously still handcuffed behind the chair. After some more frontal shots and face closeups, we again get a closeup of the hands behind the chair, where Fauxlivia attempts to squeeze a hand through the cuffs. After another scene elsewhere, it's time for some more frontal scenes, at one point she attempts to throw up at the side of the chair, with her hands still cuffed behind her. She then gets rescued. |
