Record number: 1334 Title: Friday the 13th: The Series Medium: TV Series Actress: Cyndy Preston, Genevieve Langlois, Christa Daniel, Nancy Cser, Louise Robey Description: Episode: "The Charnel Pit" (1990) An episode from near the end of the series' run, clearly inspired by the movie Waxwork. Micki (Robey) is taking a course from a professor rather obsessed with the Marquis de Sade-and from whose class a couple of young women have disappeared. It seems he's come into the posession of a two-way painting done by the Marquis, through which someone can pass either from the professor's house in the present to the Marquis' mansion in 1790 Paris, or the other way-provided that for every person who passes through one way alive, another must die going in the opposite direction. At about seven minutes, Preston, as the first student to vanish, becomes the first victim, being shown briefly chained up by her wrists in the Marquis' dungeon during the opening credits, after being shoved through the painting. Later, Micki comes snooping around just as the professor is carrying the second victim (Daniel) into his house. She winds up going through the painting during the struggle that ensues after following him inside. A servant girl (Langlois) with her wrists shackled, whom the Marquis has taken captive, sees Micki emerge from the other side and, when she gets a chance, passes through herself, ending up dead on the floor of the dungeon-like room in the professor's house where his side of the painting hangs. This is witnessed by Daniel's character, who sits in the room with her hands tied in front of her to an overhead rope. This scene is about 24 minutes into the episode. Meanwhile, back at chez de Sade, Micki has assumed the guise of a noblewoman for whom the servant girl worked, who was scheduled to visit the Marquis. At about 40 minutes, she sits down to write a letter explaining who she really is and what has happened to her in case she never gets back to the present. As she describes her impressions of the Marquis, there are two brief head-and-shoulders shots of Cser, who plays another noblewoman sent by the authorities to spy on the Marquis, being whipped by him, as implied by the sound effects. It's also implied she's chained up at the wrists and stripped to her underwear. About 10 minutes later, the Marquis figures Micki out, and chains her up by her wrists after showing her the body of Cser's character lying on the floor of a cell. As he's ripping her blouse open down the back, her present-day cohorts are coming to the rescue. Touching the painting reveals the scene in the Marquis' dungeon, resulting in a final fight scene which yields several good shots of Micki writhing and struggling in her shackles. |

The tape is taken of and put back on several times and is finally ripped off so she can taunt the paperboy. Funny scene overall with a cute actress(even if her boobs are sagging). |

In the last half of the halfhour program, Leigh's character's testimony is illustrated with a flashback to what occurred in the apartment, including a scene with both women bound with tape and tapegagged in the tub. |

Record number: 1461 Title: Frog and Wombat (1998) Medium: Movie Actress: Jessica Cushman, Katie Stuart Description: Stuart and Emily Lipoma play the title characters, a pair of Nancy Drew wannabes who communicate with code names over walkie-talkies. They've come to suspect their new school principal (Ronny Cox) has done away with a woman (Cushman) they saw him with when he moved into their neighborhood, but has since disappeared. About an hour and five minutes in, Cushman is briefly shown hunched in an overstuffed chair, apparently wrapped in blankets and bound hand and foot with a red cleave gag (the bonds are rather hard to see), as the two sleuths try to imagine how the principal did the deed. About fifteen minutes later he grabs Stuart from her bedroom after figuring out she's on to him. Her partner comes by shortly afterward, finding one of the walkie-talkies dropped outside the house. She uses it to try to contact Stuart, who's been taken to the principal's office and deposited in a chair, her hands tied in front to a rope around her thighs, her ankles roped together, and cleave-gagged with a blue bandanna. She slips off her sneakers and tries to respond to Lipoma by pressing the transmit button on her walkie-talkie (which Cox has inexplicably placed on the desk before her) with her toe. About the time Lipoma figures out where she is, Cox comes into the room and lifts her out of the chair. He carries her outside and places her on the floor of his car between the front and back seats, then drives off just as Lipoma pulls up on her bicycle. The subsequent chase scene is intercut with shots of Stuart crying and struggling at her bonds, as Lipoma abandons her bike at a golf course, swipes a cart and cuts across the fairway to head off Cox. The chase ends when Stuart manges to free her hands and clobber Cox with a bottle, sending the car into a tree. |

| Two oldies tonight. In Topper Returns, 3:55- 5:30 a.m. on Showtime 3, Carole Landis is tied and OTM gagged near the end--the hero finds her while exploring a tunnel. Short and a bit dark, but one of only two scenes with Ms. Landis.
And from 5-7 a.m. Starz 4 is showing Artists and Models, wherein a young and feisty Shirley MacLaine gets tied wrists to chair arms and tightly cleave gagged, with lots of struggling. Happens pretty near the end, and starts up fairly suddenly, while a big musical number is going on IIRC. |

I've got notes indicating 85' on a 2' airtime (with commercials), and 105' in on a 135' showing In any event, have it on REC/PAUSE and fire away when Dean and Jerry start dancing in the backstage hallway. | West Coast Alert - Kim Delaney gets caught by the bad guys and has her hands cuffed behind her back in the last half hour. Later, she's got one wrist cuffed to a post. No gag. I only saw last 30 min, so I don't know if there was anything earlier. |
