Record number: 7031 Title: MacGyver Medium: TV Series Actress: Mayim Bialik, Angela Costain, Merrilyn Gann Description: Episode: "Hearts of Steel" (5.19) About four minutes into the episode, Angela is walking with Mayim in a shopping mall when both are grabbed by thugs, handgagged, and dragged into the parking structure. Angela is thrown into a van, while Mayim is locked in a storage room. We next see Angela about 22 minutes in, tied to a chair with her hands behind her back and blindfolded with a white cloth. A few minutes later, in a brief but enjoyable rescue sequence, MacGyver finds her tied up in an observatory: hands behind, still blindfolded, and now wearing a nice cleave gag. Just minutes after that, in another brief rescue scene, we see Merrilyn playing a housekeeper who needed to be kept out of the way while the bad guys grabbed Mayim's character for a second time. She's lying on the floor, detective gagged, with her hands behind her back. Finally, about 32 minutes in, we see Mayim again, unbound but blindfolded and held by one of the kidnappers as her release is negotiated. She remains a prisoner until the end of the episode, but she isn't tied. |

She struggles to slip her mouth from under his hand then screams. He gets his hand over her mouth again, then she works it so that she can bite his finger then screams again. Elvis hears her screams and comes to the rescue. It's a decent hand-over-the-mouth scene. No clue as to when it occurs. |

Record number: 16240 Title: Pretty Little Liars Medium: TV Series Actress: Lindsey Shaw Description: Episode: The Lady Killer (3.12) Grieving lesbian Emily, who has seen her first lover murdered in a prior episode, is lured to the cabin of the killer when she needs some peace and quiet. While trying to relax and think things through, she finally realizes that her host is the killer. After an abortive attempt to escape from him, he lays out his plans for revenge – killing her current lover and making her watch. He opens the closet door, revealing a captive Lindsey sitting inside. Her wrists are taped in front of her, her arms are taped to her sides and her ankles are also taped. More duct tape is used to gag her. The ranting killer pulls Lindsey to her feet and hops her over to the couch, where she is pushed down to sit next to Emily. He puts a knife to Lindsey’s throat as he goes into excruciating detail about why he’s going to kill her (none of which makes any difference here, except in that it does make the scene longer, while he’s ranting, and we get some nice close ups of Lindsey’s gagged mouth). A sound from outside distracts the killer who goes to investigate, and Emily runs out the back door, leaving Lindsey bound and gagged on the couch. The killer chases after Emily, leaving Lindsey to be freed off-screen later. Occurs in the last quarter of the episode. |

Record number: 16357 Title: Pretty Little Liars Medium: TV Series Actress: Lucy Hale Description: Episode: This Is a Dark Ride (3.13) The girls put on costumes for a Halloween party aboard a moving train. Lucy becomes “Daisy” from “The Great Gatsby”, and is enjoying the party when a drug is slipped into her drink. Halfway through the episode, she wakes up in a crate with her wrists taped in front of her and duct tape over her mouth. The fairly secure gag is quickly replaced with a very loose piece of tape, which Lucy removes using a protruding nail and her breath (she could have just taken it off with her taped-in-front hands, but.... take what you can get). She then uses the nail to try to get the tape off of her wrists, while her captor tries to push the crate off of the moving train. She manages to stab her captor through the slats of the crate with a conveniently left screwdriver, and delays the plunge off the train long enough to be rescued by her friends. |
