Record number: 14559 Title: Sherlock Holmes (2009) Medium: Movie Actress: Rachel McAdams Description: McAdams is seen at 1hr 14mins in a typically hokey, classical DiD situation: her arms are shackled overhead to a bandsaw mechanism which threatens to chop her up as it moves along (the setting is a meat processing factory), together with flamethrowers on either side. She's also cleave gagged with a thin strip of white cloth, but her legs remain unbound. She mmpphhs a couple of times whilst struggling mightily as Holmes & Watson go about saving her, but is ungagged (offscreen) much too quickly after only 40secs. Quite an exciting sequence nonetheless, lasting about 3mins in all. No capture shown. At the end of the film, at 1hr 50mins, she is handcuffed by Holmes on top of (an under construction) Tower Bridge. She starts off unconscious but quickly wakes up as her hands are cuffed behind her, remarking cutely: "I've never woken up in handcuffs before". They sit & chat for 2mins, after which Holmes leaves her, still cuffed. |

Record number: 9621 Title: Cold Mountain (2003) Medium: Movie Actress: Kathy Baker, Natalie Portman Description: At about an hour and twenty minutes, Baker, playing the mother of a pair of Confederate deserters hiding on her farm, is shown lying against a split-rail fence, a noose around her neck and her hands jammed over her head between two of the rails, while a member of the Home Guard platoon that has come looking for her sons stomps on the fence's top rail to elicit screams from her and draw her sons into the open. He's aided by the platoon's leader, who jerks on the other end of the noose rope. Around half an hour later, Portman, as a young war widow with an infant, is accosted by Union raiders looking to steal supplies. She's dragged out of her cabin to a fence pole in her yard, to which she's tied with her hands behind her back, while another soldier lays her baby on the cold ground, to convince her to reveal the location of any hidden goods she has. The scene lasts about a minute (maybe a little longer). She is then untied by a soldier and taken into her house where he plans to rape her, but fortunately Jude Law saves her in time. On the bonus disk of the two-DVD set, there are segments showing both these scenes along with their corresponding storyboards. |

A damsel named Aegina (Carey) is lying on her back on an altar with her wrists bound above her head. She's cleave-gagged with a dark cloth. Hercules has to fight the bad guys while holding the damsel. He throws her into the air a couple times to free up his hands to fight, then catches her as she falls to earth. |
