Wednesday October 07 01:59:33 2015 New Nancy Drew series- however... |
Figured somebody would've posted about this by now since I saw the headline yesterday, but then I saw that it's being put together by some of the folks from "Grey's Anatomy"...which probably kills ANY potential for us, and will most likely be unbearable to watch/listen to. That said, more info at the link. |

Like the other TV versions, it'll likely suck |
Wednesday October 07 12:21:46 2015 Turkish TV |
Why can't American TV series have these kind of scenes? |

Wednesday October 07 13:50:54 2015 Shooting stars |
The guardian posted a picture with an article on silent movies which suggests Annette Benson gets a scene in the 1928 film shooting stars. I couldn't see it in the database: http://www.theguardian.com/film/2015/oct/05/shooting-stars-silent-movies-about-movies-london-film-festival-anthony-asquith |

It's not so much a complaint about Turkish scenes ... for whatever reason kidnappings and hostage taking has become a serious plot point for their stories and it's f***ing nice. The problem, however, is that we have scores of both elegantly aging and young new North American talent that dodges scenes like their salary depends on it! Worse yet, it wasn't always like this; and you now get the occasional crap scene that's short and bloody. It's not like it used to be. |

There's a thought: I really appreciate the Turkish and Latin scenes for always making their damsels look gorgeous and unblemished. None of that bloodiness & dark lighting crap. It's almost as if they're "celebrating" the DiD trope & making their lovely ladies look extra-nice for those like that sort of thing, lol. |

They've made the character a police detective in her 30s. Sure, they might throw in a few references to the books (like she'll have friends with similar names or something), but this is just another cop show with the Nancy Drew name tagged to it. Like any other cop show, maybe it will have scenes, maybe it won't. (And that's if it even gets greenlit.) If anything, the announcement kinda sucks because it reduces the likelihood of anyone doing a "real" Nancy Drew show anytime soon. (Not that those have paid off, but hope springs eternal.) |

And Mexican telenovelas have clearly been prolific deliverers of DiD scenes -- It seems to me as if it's almost a 50% chance that a telenovela's final episode (or penultimate episode) will have a B&g scene. |

Should hopefully be something next week on Arrow. Brief promo but shows promise |
Wednesday October 07 21:07:55 2015 Arrow "The Canidate" Promo |
Promo for next weeks episode of the arrow showed what looked to be Laurel (Katie Cassidy) tied up with both of her arms strung to two pillars while being menaced by the villan. |

Wasn't there discussion on here a month ago or so about another actress who used a bound and gagged behind-the-scenes photo as her Facebook header photo? I searched back but couldn't find it. |
