Some suggestions
I've had a chance to do a little extra renting this summer and ran across some films which feature gags but in which gags are not mentioned in the DB entries. Obsession: A Taste for Fear (entry 2618) gives a watered down description of the bondage scenes, of which there are many, including three with gags. The first features a topless woman in nothing but a tight bikini bottom who is tied AOH, with a cleave gag that extends as part of her rope bondage across her arms and mouth. Video images of this woman are shown later on. Both have good close-ups. Another scene involves a blond who is hired for a fetish shoot, only to become the victim of the killer in the movie. She is chair-bound and OTM gagged with white cloth. Also, the film Wife to be Sacrificed featuring Naomi Tani (entry 5109) mentions her rope bondage, but fails to note her gag scene when first seen in bondage. I'll have to check in the next day or so, but I think there was also a handgag during her abduction. Finally, regarding the Boxing Helena entry 178. I don't suppose anything HAS to be changed here, but I must say I'm a little ticked off at the subjective description of the bondage herein. "Disappointing scene where Sherilyn Fenn is gagged and bound to a wheelchair," is basically what it said. I'm not a big fan of subjective descriptions of the bondage, because they tend to cast personal aspersions on a scene someone else might love. I was disuaded from renting this flick for years because of the DB entry, and now that I've finally seen it I think the scene is amazing, even if the chair bonds are only implied. The gag is plain as day, and it's Sherilyn Fenn! Anyway, I digress... this last rant about Boxing Helena is just an opinion, not an attack, and I'm not saying go back and change every DB entry that has subjective descriptions of the bondage ... especially if they are explicit descriptions, because those can be helpful. But if I may suggest, perhaps tighter screening of all future entries would be in order for subjective terms such as "disappointing" .... unless they are followed by detailed accounts which state their case rather strongly.

I tend to agree. I like to see the description be thorough
but reasonably dispassionate. Some scenes are disappointing
for specific reasons, i.e. the out-of-focus one with
Claudia Christian from Quantum Leap.

However, there's not much we can do ahead of time. The
only real rememedy is for those who notice problems to
write up a correction. While not necessary, a rewritten
description (if done well) is helpful.

Also, if it becomes an intolerable situation for you,
we have a standard punishment for the complainers and
malcontents, that is to make them editors.

Let me know if your situation progresses to that point.

[#8898] Att: Brian R
Record number: 8898

Title: Ultimate Force
Medium: TV Series
Actress: Emily Joyce

Description: Kidnapped by Rebels of some order.

First blindfolded with hands tied behind back. Close ups on the blindfold, but the hands being tied is deduction only with no camera help.

Later the blindfold is removed and she is tied hand and foot. No real close-ups on either, but the feet binds are clearly visible at one point.

No struggling what-so-ever.

Screen time is probably somewhere around 2 minutes, spread out from five minutes in to ten minutes from the end.

Reading different from a number of different channels....
This the one I like from a UK station that aired 23 @9pm:
Hoping you can check ISP and confirm if originated from UK for the boy here?

ep: "Dead Is Forever" (2.6)
"The SAS face losing their leader when Dempsey is taken captive while protecting Overseas Development Minister Nicky Strong on a Top Secret visit to Tblisi, Georgia. Red Troop is scrambled to the rescue but they unwittingly play into the hands of the kidnapper. In such dangerous terrain the odds are stacked against them - and Dempsey. And Henno has a personal score to settle."

Only snags... Dempsey played by actor Miles Anderson
Haven't been able to link Emily Joyce to this ep yet, but suspect possile actress for Nicky Strong.

For reference:
The Ross Kemp Fansite (show lead) confirms character Nicky Strong a lady.
Figure this one starting to look real good.

Admit most effort put into editing titles to format for the search function, especially TV Series. Most of the editing done there.

So I really don't screen the Descriptions as much as probably needed. Also are hard to sort unless seen it ourselves. I do have a DB "Sqwack List" of entries brought to my attention. One that irritates Collectors the most is the "bound hand & foot" ones.
Went back and fixed one like that tonight actually. So's we do go back and change them all the time.

Suggest you may want to post descriptions as you feel they should appear, and we'll sort them from there.

Yes, sir. Roger that. I think for now, though, I'll go with the standard procedure and post scene description suggestions (when the spirit moves me) that are easier to sort, as Jay put it. Appreciate the chance to vent, even though most DB entries are generally quite sufficient for me.

"Why record $8885 deleted?"

Entry was deleted after I became aware of this post:
From Discussion Page:

Sunday July 20 10:41:51 2003
What is the REAL Title?

"Entry #8885:
Title on local TV Station: "Rage To Kill"
Any idea about the REAL Title of this movie?"

Entries with Unknown titles are always deleted.
Realise,
when you post about a scene, there's Collectors reading that normally want to get ahold of it. So try and gather as much information as you can for them.

"See Information about the Movie:"

Yes, aware as searched this one up myself as a possible for it. Here's the reply from Discussion Page:

#8885 Street Kids Rage To Kill

"I think this is the correct title"
"DID is not Strawberry Yeung."
"There is another beautiful woman who bring"
"Perhaps "unknown" is better"

Really no confirmation that I got the correct one, so still an Unknown Title & Unknown Actress
So we'll wait until someone who gets the information enters it.

In future:
"Title on Local Station"

It would be easier if you told me what the station and where it airs out of next time, and I'll assist with the air scheds.
Realise, I have to check multiple air-scheds and hope to hit on it, unless given a specific area.
(See the Ultimate Force entry)

Ask as well, you mark down the credited leads, and post them here on DB Corrections before entering. Easier for narrowing down in all the Chinese movie sites.

#8885 Local station
The title is correct, however the DID is "Unknown".

On the local TV schedule, they only mention "HK / Chinese movie".
(without any title!)
I got the title from prompt at the top of the screen
(appear for several minutes).

All the credits and title are in Chinese characters.

Okay great. I'll use the reference post and transfer it back in.

What channel?
Perhaps it'll be on another guide and give us more actresses than the Miss Asia (Strawberry? whomever?) Might get lucky and ID.

May be too late, normally have to get them day entered or scheds move on?

> All the credits and title are in Chinese characters.

Understand, CJMT channel does that here and agree, a pain my friend. What normally do, scan the tape and get alook at some of the other actors/actresses and work off their fan forums. There's some that always seem to be with others in the films.

Thanx Brian.

Still at the moment over on the other forum, haven't seen a reply to Rob's question about it.
Figure if they do? have it confirmed... the easy way huh? <G>
