I'm actually favoring Photos over drive because you can put in a lot of information in the "description" of each video whereas with Drive all you get is the filename. It is a shame that you cannot browse through a list of captions on Photos, but you can easily search by filename. It's also a shame you can't pick the frame of interest, but there's an easy work-around. It would require a bit of work but you can easily create a new "collection" for each video and you can then even put in screen caps. Then, when browsing you'll see the screen caps and the first frame of the video. The biggest downside I could see is the potential for G00gle to screen through video uploads on G00gle photos more than drive, especially since they are providing "unlimited" storage. On the other hand, I feel our clips are probably short enough to get by (we are not including entire movies by any means).

As an example, I've filled in the "description" of a few test videos I uploaded. I copied/pasted the description from the database, added additional tags, e.g. IMDB IDs, and will wait a day before I test the search feature.

I did notice that the search is pretty good once indexed - it knows the difference between 'tape gag' and '"tape gag"' with the latter giving me only instances with the specific phrase "tape gag" and not just having both words tape and gag.

I'm thinking maybe at some point this will end up as a distributed effort. People will contribute clips to a shared album and annotate it accordingly. This takes a lot of the time required to enter all the details and divides it out amongst many. Of course, it'll be the anarchy equivalent to Brian's page DB which is nicely moderated. Furthermore, it might be easily subject to vandalism - I'm not sure about security of shared albums.

Help ID'ing a French TV scene?
I'm trying to ID a particular scene, but have lost the actual file to a hard drive crash and I don't recall the title. It's in French, and the production values seem to be TV-series level.

The scene opens with a pretty brunette (in her 30's?) snooping around a mobile home, only to have the 2 male villains return and find her there. One pushes her down onto the bed while his accomplice says something to the effect of "what do we do with her?". The more dominant thug replies by cleave gagging her onscreen (with a tie or handkerchief). He then ties her hands behind her back with a belt. Good closeups throughout. Scene cuts away and we see her struggling on the bed alone, having been hogtied with belts, before her friends arrive to discover and release her.

I'd appreciate any help with this - I'm hoping Raffish or Sam have clipped it in the past. (Thanks fellas for all you do!)

Doesn't sound familiar to me, but I hope you find it. Sounds like a great scene. The French seems to be rather underrated when it comes to good, realistic bondage on TV.

Short film on Vimeo. Hands behind, feet bound with saran wrap and tape gagged. Some nice close ups, tape is a bit loose unfortunately.

Now all that's needed is an ep number.

Actually, Drive lets you add descriptions as well, so I'm still leaning toward it over Photos due to the ability to browse by filename (and despite its not being free over 15GB, since the expense would be minor). But since there's nothing like a side-by-side comparison, I've synced the Community folder to Drive, where it fits just barely within the current 25GB limit:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B4u3brXcKItMQjNVUVdMUUtYcTg

Meanwhile, the Community 1080 folder (which contains all of the 1080p/1080i clips) is now a shared album and collection in Photos:

Yeah. I may continue to store my own clips and caps in separate directories for now, rather than creating a separate album for each clip that has caps associated, but this is a nice option to have.

I'm thinking there may be something to this. Of the 21 clips in that Community 1080 folder, only 15 are currently showing up in Photos. The other six are listed as "backed up" in the app but aren't anywhere to be found online...and at least one of those was there originally but has gone missing within the last hour.

So far I haven't noticed any missing files in the much larger Drive archive.

One compromise would be to create a shared "dropbox" album where anyone could add clips and caps. I'd do some minimal moderation -- which would normally just consist of verifying that they're mainstream scenes, and possibly changing the filenames, which I'd like to keep in a consistent format -- and then move them to the Community folder, which would be view-only.

The only catch here is that it would be nice if the descriptions/"tags" alone were still editable after the move, either by anyone or by a trusted group of editors (a la Brian's DB) if we started seeing abuse. I don't know if that's possible without also allowing people to do more destructive things like deleting clips, but I imagine we can figure something out.

I remember this classic, thank you! One of the few I can remember visually just from the title.

I believe this is the second time I've seen a short film by a female writer/director featuring an extensive scene of interest with little to no plot; can anyone else remember others?

Good YouTube clip for the scene in question.
