Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1978) Medium: Movie Actress: Diane Steinberg, Sandy Farina Description: Sandy (Farina) is first handgagged by the Twin Peaks giant during Earth, Wind and Fire's performance. Later on it shows Sandy tied to a bed and over the mouth gagged with yellow cloth as Mr. Mustard does a bad version of "When I'm 64". The next scene shows Sandy ungagged on the top of Mustard's bus with long separate ropes to the rail behind her, as she tries to signal the good guys who are following in a hot air balloon (don't ask.) Later, Diane and the hero's greedy cousin/guy are gagged over the mouth with yellow cloth, and led to where the Future Villian Band is. Sandy is then shown tied to an illuminated dollar sign and gagged with the over the mouth yellow cloth again, and struggles, as Steven Tyler does a good version of "Come Together". The moving of a feather boa around Sandy's neck is a great touch to it. Diane and guy are tied back to back below the stage, struggling as well. |

You see a videotaped image of Laura Linney's character, nude on her stomach on a kitchen floor. Her hands are handcuffed behind her and she's gagged with duct tape and suffocating from a plastic bag sealed over her head. Ends badly. Scene 2 occurs about 30 minutes later, approx. 95 minutes (1:35) into the movie. This is with Kate Winslet, playing a reporter, re-creating the death as part of her investigation. Kate's character is fully clothed. She tapes her mouth with duct tape, then ties a bag over her head and handcuffs herself. Her reporting partner is standing by to tear away the bag in a couple of minutes. Some good closeups of Kate's face. Kate starts struggling and mmmmmphing, and her buddy tears off the bag. Good closeup of her gagged face for a second or two after the bag comes off. Scene 3, which is less than 10 minutes later. We get to see Linney's character tape her own mouth and then put the bag on. Scene ends quickly from there. At the very end of the film is a sort-of Scene 4, in which you see slightly more of the videotape with the body of Linney's character still handcuffed, gagged and bagged. |

Title: Lexx: The Series (1997) aka Tales from a Parallel Universe Medium: TV Series Actress: Xenia Seeberg Description: Episode: "Battle" (3.10) In the first few minutes, Xev (Ms. Seeberg) is handgagged while sleeping. Next there are quick shots of her ankles and wrists bound with what appear to be rubber straps, one of which is used to over the mouth gag her (she's seen gagged very briefly). She is placed in something akin to a body bag and more straps are wrapped around it, including around the area of her mouth. She's next shown aboard a balloon with her ankles and legs still bound, and her hands now tied over her head. A hood is quickly removed, and we see she's been ungagged. She is handgagged briefly at some point when she tries to yell for help. After the halfway mark she is cut down and the rope that was holding her bound hands raised above her is now wrapped around her waist. She is flung overboard and is suspended in the air over a sea. The rope is cut, and she falls into the water, to be rescued by Kai. Once she's safely in the boys' balloon, the restraints are removed. The action ends around the 40' mark. |
