Record number: 2487 Title: The Lone Ranger Medium: TV Series Actress: Esther Somers Description: Episode: "Mrs. Banker" (3.29) A bank clerk provides the times and dates of payroll shipments to his desperado partner. The masked hombre procedes to pull a succession of stage coach robberies, thereby threatening both the bank and the stage line with bankruptcy. When the Lone Ranger and Tonto arrive in town to investigate, the crooks decide to loot the bank and get out of town. The female bank president, Mabel Howard (Somers), stumbles upon the clerk robbing the safe. He grabs her and spirits her to his hideout, where she is bound securely to a chair and detective gagged with a wide, thick piece of cloth. Just as the bad guys are going to ensure that dead women tell no tales, the Lone Ranger bursts into the cabin and shoots the gun from the villian's hand. Ms. Somers is a 50-ish woman. In addition to her wrists being bound behind her back, several strands of rope bind her chest and waist to the chair and coils loop around her elbows as well. It's interesting how the older ladies in western shows are tightly tied, but the young misses' bondage mostly consists of looseys. |
