Record number: 1461 Title: Frog and Wombat (1998) Medium: Movie Actress: Jessica Cushman, Katie Stuart Description: Stuart and Emily Lipoma play the title characters, a pair of Nancy Drew wannabes who communicate with code names over walkie-talkies. They've come to suspect their new school principal (Ronny Cox) has done away with a woman (Cushman) they saw him with when he moved into their neighborhood, but has since disappeared. About an hour and five minutes in, Cushman is briefly shown hunched in an overstuffed chair, apparently wrapped in blankets and bound hand and foot with a red cleave-gag (the bonds are rather hard to see), as the two sleuths try to imagine how the principal did the deed. About fifteen minutes later he grabs Stuart from her bedroom after figuring out she's on to him. Her partner comes by shortly afterward, finding one of the walkie-talkies dropped outside the house. She uses it to try to contact Stuart, who's been taken to the principal's office and deposited in a chair, her hands tied in front to a rope around her thighs, her ankles roped together, and cleave-gagged with a blue bandanna. She slips off her sneakers and tries to respond to Lipoma by pressing the transmit button on her walkie-talkie (which Cox has inexplicably placed on the desk before her) with her toe. About the time Lipoma figures out where she is, Cox comes into the room and lifts her out of the chair. He carries her outside and places her on the floor of his car between the front and back seats, then drives off just as Lipoma pulls up on her bicycle. The subsequent chase scene is intercut with shots of Stuart crying and struggling at her bonds, as Lipoma abandons her bike at a golf course, swipes a cart and cuts across the fairway to head off Cox. The chase ends when Stuart manges to free her hands and clobber Cox with a bottle, sending the car into a tree. |
