The short scene is shot entirely in closeup with no bonds visible. Baddie Jason Robards has conked goodie James Caan and tossed him into the closet, and then proceeds to set the house alight. Caan comes to, ungags and releases Fonda (she asks him to "cut the rope off my hand," but again, neither her wrists nor any bonds are shown), and they escape their intended fate. |

Naturally, she doesn't come willingly. We see the boys lower her, with rope wrapped around her lower legs (but not her ankles, so she kicks around alot) and body. A sheet is wrapped around her torso and a pillow case covers her head. After they lower her into a buckboard, the elder son removes the pillow case and we see an indignant Kitty detective gagged with a light colored cloth. She's lowered into the buckboard and Pa advises his son to sit on her, as she's mighty squirmy. Scene starts about seventeen minutes into the episode (no commercials) and lasts for a bit less than a minute. Even though the scene takes place at night, it's relatively well-lit. |
