There was a very lengthy bit of bondage in one of the books, I believe it was "Moonraker." The heroine was bound to a chair in a house, then bound in the back seat of a car to be moved, and then bound in a chair again. Fleming didn't have her gagged in any of the instances, which was plausible in the first case (A sound-proofed room) and the third (in the villain's HQ with only his henchmen and a helpless Bond around.) But in the transport scene she was being driven - in a convertible, with the roof down, no less! - through several cities. She was tied lying down on the seat with her ankles strapped to a floor rail and covered by a rug. But still, you're just not going to drive a conscious kidnap victim around in public without having her gagged unless you want to be caught. I'm not a gag snob at all, but that always bothered me. And of course in the movie version - nothing. |

And of course in the movie version - nothing. Now it's been a while since I last saw the movie, but I'm pretty sure that the Bond-girl in Moonraker, a CIA agent if memory serves, does get strapped to a gourney and even has her hand tied in front of her. |

That is correct. I believe bookwise, Solitaire was gagged in Live and Let Die and I think Tiffany Case was gagged at the end of Diamonds Are Forever, but those are the only ones I remember. But let's not judge the movie before a year ahead of time. |
