| Neat scenes, hope there's a lot more! Lea is absolutely delightful! Watched Cat Ballou again recently and Lea totally reminds me of a young Jane Fonda with her big-eyed pouty facial expressions. Hopefully Lea speaks English well coz I'd really like to see her do some Hollywood stuff sometime. Nice find, indeed! |

| Got the book today. Have only read a portion of it but skimmed through for a quick report. It's extremely well-researched and has a lot of photos and illustrations. I had seen most of them before, but not all. A sympathetic look at the man and the various obstacles he encountered. At least a couple of interesting things I never knew. First, he worked with the Kinsey Sex Institute in their studies of various fetishes. Second, he drew some influence from the Japanese bondage scene in later years. A fan of Willie's who was living or stationed in Japan sent him some magazines from there in the late 50's that reprinted some of his work. Willie wasn't too happy about it, firstly because he got no money from it, and secondly WW2 wasn't far in the past and Japan wasn't his favorite country at the time. But he was interested in the more ornate Japanese style, and started to incorporate some of it into his work, while the Japanese began to use women in dominant roles more often, as Willie was doing. Anyway, it's an interesting and worthwhile book about not only Willie and his influence on our lifestyle, but about the entire world of kink back in that era. Definitely recommended. |
