Wonderful "old school" if you will. ~~~~ I also appreciate the jaw-dropping beauty of the Turkish actresses, the remarkable length of the gag-scenes, the lighting (even if the damsel is being held in a barn, warehouse at night, back of a van, etc) and attire. One additional old-school plus is that the damsels are one of the series regulars, not just a one-time guest star. For me, a drawback of Lifetime/Lifetime Movie Network productions is that the damsel is most often an attractive actress with few previous credits. There is something Old-school about the anticipation of seeing if this will (again) be the day where one's favorite series regular would be b&g: The Avengers, Mod Squad, T.J. Hooker, Hunter, Lois and Clark, X-Files, Walker Texas Ranger. |

| Final episode of The Penguin pays off with a (brief) full treatment. Spoilers below. Towards the beginning of the episode (maybe 15-20 minutes in), The Penguin's mother (Deirdre O'Connell) is brought by the baddies for a confrontation with Penguin and Sofia. She is gagged with a strip of tape. She's mostly in the background, but the few close-ish shots that we get show that the tape seems decently sticky and there's a nice lip imprint. Her hands are zip-tied behind her back, which is shown in a closeup where she is cut free. Not too worth going out of your way to look for given the brevity, lack of closeups, presence of Penguin also bound and gagged in the scene, and, depending on your preference, the age of the actress. Also, towards the end of the episode, Sofia (Cristin Milioti) is arrested and presumably handcuffed, though you don't really see anything there. Overall, not too much in this series for the bondage crowd, but still quite the fine show if I do say so myself. |
