Thursday March 06 12:16:33 2014 Sound of Bindings |
I think we all love the mmmphing of a gagged damsel. Anyone recall scenes that were enhanced by the sound of the bindings? In other words, the rip of the roll of duct tape by the captor, the nice clanging of metal handcuffs. One scene from "Angel" I liked was when Charisma Carpenter gets captured by a demon with a lariat. The whooshing noise as the ropes whip around her torso made a great capture scene even more awesome! |

Opening minutes have a hostage crisis. A bunch of people (including a number of women) are bound hand and foot with zip ties. |

That "rrrrip-rrrrip" of duct tape being wrapped around.....and around.......and around Martika's mouth (and her helpless mmpphhs after each wrap) is one of the most glorious sounds I've ever heard in a scene, if not THE best. Jessica Biel in Ulee's Gold also gets the usual honourable mention. In both those scenes it's also nice how there's no music at all, with the tape-wrapping being emphasized further by the ambient silence. Makes it all that more shocking and brutal, at least in DiD terms. |

When the tape gag is so sticky it makes a loud sound of being ripped of the roll when it actually ripped from the damsels mouth and of course hearing her yelp. |

Yeah Jessica Biel hadn't hit her prime but I do think the stark ripping sound of the duct tape added to the intensity of the scene. It came to mind when I originally posted this thread. Good stuff! |

I take it none of the female characters get gagged? |
Thursday March 06 19:54:55 2014 Re: Sound of Bindings |
I remember one movie that I saw when I was like 12 years old, it was on USA up all night. The movie is called Kill Kill Overkill aka Twisted Fate, which had on screen taping with duct tape & the sound of it was incredible. It's a rare movie to find, BUT I was able to download it, so I have the full movie. |

One of those Burn-On-Demand thingies that have every now and then. Worth checking out, I'd say, if you haven't seen it. Production-wise, about as bad of a movie as you can imagine. But some good duct tape bondage along the way. |

It won't be out for four more weeks, which means there won't even be screenings for a while. The ambiguous posts we've had here have been based on a recently released four-minute clip involving a hostage rescue early in the movie. No one knows yet whether Scarlett Johansson, Emily VanCamp, Hayley Atwell or anyone else will have a scene. Hope that clears it up. |

Thursday March 06 22:20:24 2014 Re: Camelia La Texana |
At the 15 minute mark, the bad guy Emilio holds a bridal gown shop owner while Camelia is trying on a dress in the fitting room. He holds her at gunpoint reaches up and grabs a cloth and gags and its implied that he ties her hands behind her. The store owner is wearing green, yellow, and white multi-colored skirt. It's repeats at 1AM on the East coast on Telemundo. |

Thursday March 06 22:31:48 2014 Cute moment on Hollywood Game Night |
Tiffani Thiessen is on the show tonight, and when host Jane Lynch asked her if there's anything interesting about being on White Collar for five years, Tiffani answered in a deadpan tone, "I've been kidnapped three times." (Too bad we haven't gotten more out of that show under the circumstances, but it was still cute.) |

It also pops up in your Facebook feed if you follow the A.V. Club, which is kinda cool. Hope the image size is on the right side of acceptable, Mod. |
