| Title: Oh, Sailor Behave (1930) Medium: Movie Actress: Irene Delroy Description: Early Olson and Johnson musical comedy. Nanette Dodge (Irene Delroy) is an American heiress blackmailed into marriage by a Russian prince. In the final 10 minutes, she is kidnapped by the prince's henchmen who tie and detective gag the damsel and leave her on a bed. Some emotive shots as they debate how they plan to smuggle her out of Naples. Later, her American boyfriend attempts a rescue but is beaten down. There are a couple of damsel close ups during this fight, after which the villains attempt to carry off the damsel, but are stopped be Olsen and Johnson. (During the second fight there are more closeups and emoting from damsel as she lies on the floor.) (note to Moderator: the original DB description appears to be of a lobby card picture where the hero finds Delroy unconscious, bound and gagged on the bed. Although this picture has a better view of Delroy, this setup doesn't appear in the actual movie. |
