And I was really unhappy with the first scene, too, mainly because the gags hanging around the ladies' necks looked more like cleaves than otms - but I fear we will never know for sure! | Record number: 1435 Title: Caged (1950) Medium: Movie Actress: Eleanor Parker Description: Classic that served as the model for the women-in-prison explotation flicks a generation later. Parker plays a young wife in on a questionable rap as an accessory to an armed robbery her husband committed. About an hour in she gets sent to solitary after assaulting the prison's sadistic lead matron (Hope Emerson). On her way to the hole, they take a little detour to the matron's office, where she's shoved into a chair and her arms are pulled behind her and held by another matron. When she realizes the lead matron is about to cut off her hair, she begins screaming, prompting her tormentor to wrap-gag her with a folded towel, which she holds together behind Parker's head with one hand while administering the haircut. The scene's in the second half. |
