| As you all know , A year ago YT had added the ability to play videos at 50 or 60 FPS if the original video supported it and at least has a 720p resolution and when i browsed a scene from All My Children episode that i redownloaded I discovered how smooth the scenes at higher frame rates compared to the 25 or 30 FPS So as there is a lot of Soap opera scenes that runs on TV at those higher frame rates so I though why not upgrading the scenes that are originally at higher frame rates but was capped at 25 or 30 FPS due to YT setting back in the day , So what is your opinion in that matter and will you be interested in it and is it worth it ? Here is the scene that made me notice how smooth higher frame rates scenes are compared to lower frame rates ones |

They play smoother in Chrome than Firefox on my end (Firefox still plays them back as 30FPS for some reason). Soap operas are typically shot in 60FPS. They used to be filmed in 60i videotape because it was cheaper than 24fps film (which was reserved for expensive productions like The X-Files). Now with HDTV, most of the TV series we watch are shot in 24fps because it's cheaper and easier than before, but soap operas seem to still be shot in higher frame rates. There's also the "soap opera effect" option which comes with some TV sets and makes all movies and TV series look smoother using motion interpolation. They even tried to push higher frame rates in movies, but it failed (see: The Hobbit 48FPS). But, to get back on topic, I think it would be very cool if we could have soap opera scenes in their original 60FPS. Not only it would look true to the source material, it would also make it easier for cappers to take screenshots of DiD scenes with less blurry frames. |
