| OK, here's the deal: I used StreamTransport to grab these from the official Telemundo site, but there's a big problem. Unlike the embedded FLVs from BBC iPlayer and some other sites, which are often encoded to H.264, these are natively encoded to FLV; which is horrible & plain to see in terms of image quality. It turns out that this format--which I just fckn' hate--is notoriously tricky to edit in the style of Xvid (ie. simply using keyframes and direct stream copy), and true to my word I refuse to re-encode anything no matter what. So! What I've done instead is upload a RAR file containing the 5 separate parts of the episode as they are presented here: http://msnlatino.telemundo.com/novelas/Aurora/videos In a break from tradition, I haven't edited them in any way. They are untouched & exactly as I ripped them from the site. If you guys want to try editing them yourselves, go for it. I'd like to see if anyone else can figure out a way to losslessly edit a native FLV video stream. I sure as hell couldn't do it. Of course, there is the option to re-encode to Xvid or whatever, but for me....... I'll pass. The loss of quality for such a 5-star scene (yes, I definitely consider it one of those: it's AWESOME) is too much to bear, and I have already tried it myself. The image ended up being way too mushy, since it's already of somewhat poor quality. Btw, the clip from MajorJohn's missed out a lot of stuff from the scene (especially in the car), so be sure to have a look at these FLVs if you want to see the full thing. |
