He tracks the vampire to an abandoned house, where he finds a woman bound by her wrists and ankles to the head and foot of a bed. She's tape gagged, too. Seems the vampire just wants to drink her blood a little at a time. Anyway, Kolchak removes her tape gag, but hears the vampire enter the house. He tries to stick it back on, then hides in a closet. The woman moves her head and the tape falls, off -- the vampire knows someone else is in the house. He finds Kolchak and after a brief struggle is about ready to kill him, when the sun rises and Kolchak rams a stake through his heart. |

Later she is pursued around a campfire with her wrists bound in front. Later still she is again bound and placed on a horse. When confronted by a passle of angry Arabs, he hauls poor Mahla off the horse and uses her as a human shield. Lawrance is a real cutie! |
