Record number: 720 Title: Small Soldiers (1998) Medium: Movie Actress: Kirsten Dunst Description: The action begins when some evil "Gwendy" dolls capture her. As she walks into her room, the dolls advance on her. One of them swings a lasso made from friendship beads, which she uses to lasso Kirsten's ankles, taking her down. The dolls jump on her en masse, and we see some great closeups. Later, the head toy soldier comes to taunt her while she is gagged with a sock and her arms and legs are taped. Then the story cuts to another plotline. When we see her again, she is roped to a chair with tape hanging off her mouth. The soldiers have sent this footage on a video to demand the Gorgons' surrender. In the rescue scene, we see her still roped to the chair, but with a big piece of silver duct tape across her mouth. The dolls have a little time to taunt her before she is cut free -- eliciting some excellent mmmphing in a nice closeup. When this aired on ABC, the scenes began around the 74' mark, and ended about 83' in, with an ad break. Also this from a poster at Discussion: "When the doll appears on Kirsten's shoulder, there's a shot of her excitedly mmmmphing away while motioning her head sideaways at the doll. ABC cut that part out." |

Record number: 2226 Title: Squirm (1976) Medium: Movie Actress: Patricia Pearcy Description: Cute redhead Pearcy is briefly handgagged at 1hr 18mins by one of the film's zombies. She is next seen in a very quick shot at 1hr 23mins, cleave gagged with a thick red/white teatowel and mmpphhing. 2mins later we get a better view of her as she carefully climbs down a ladder from the attic in which she was being held; still gagged as before, her hands are bound behind her back with a long piece of cloth, feet obviously unbound as she is able to descend the ladder. Her rescuer (possibly boyfriend) helps her down, ungags her after some whimpering, then unties her. All sequences are very short, with Pearcy spending a total of about 30secs of screentime bound and gagged. Lighting is murky, but not completely dark. All views of Pearcy are either in close-up (the first glimpse we see of her), or a partial-body shot (a pan-down when she climbs down the ladder). She wears a white sleeveless top, a sexy pair of Daisy Dukes showing off her legs, and tan-coloured flats. |

Record number: 16055 Title: Dexter Medium: TV Series Actress: Julia Stiles Description: Episode: "The Big One" (5.12) Last episode of the fifth season. Lumen (Julia Stiles) has been kidnapped by a villain. First we hear her (and shortly after that see her) mmmphing from inside the trunk of a car: her hands are tied behind her back with white rope and she is cleave gagged with a blue bandanna. Her ankles are not tied, so Lumen is furiously kicking inside the trunk. In the first opportunity he gets, the villain opens the trunk and hits Lumen with his gun, leaving her unconscious. The car comes to a stop at a camp, where her captor opens the trunk and lets her out. She's awake at this point, and struggles as he drags her out of the car and throws her to the ground, taunting her a bit before dragging her into an abandoned house. Then we see Lumen sitting on the floor next to a pole (close-up of her tied wrists). The villain ungags her and taunts her. Lumen takes advantage of the fact that the guy has come too close to her, hits him and tries to escape. She gets up and runs away (her hands still tied behind her back, although not tied to the pole, as one might think). She is quickly recaptured. We get to see Lumen bound and gagged once more, as Dexter is brought inside the house (Lumen was used as bait to lure him there). Now she is tied AOH and forced to stand on her tiptoes (surely an uncomfortable position for Ms. Stiles to endure). She then witnesses how Dexter turns the tables on the bad guy and defeats him. Lenghty scene, several good close-ups, and an excellent performance by Ms. Stiles (specially good mmmphing). Very enjoyable and remarkably well done. |
