About 40 minutes in with commercials, just before the end of the third act, the bad guy shows good-guy Stabler (who has gone undercover as a fellow sex offender) his latest catch. We see Beutler in the back of his van, wearing street clothes, gagged and bound hand and foot (hands in front) with duct tape. Shortly after the break, Stabler lifts her out of the van, slings her over his shoulder, and puts her down on a mattress. After convincing the bad guy to give him some privacy, he quietly explains to her that he's a cop but that she needs to play along and pretend that he's hurting her. He frees her legs, removes her gag -- she screams obligingly -- and tells her to run. The bad guy gets the drop on Stabler, but Beutler escapes successfully, to be seen a bit later running up to the other cops with her hands still taped. |
