Not knowing what to do with her, he keeps her handcuffed (but not gagged) for a while. |

One of the lesser changes is the lovely Beryl Stapleton's scene in the last 20 minutes: Dr. Watson bursts into a dark room and finds her hung (wrists tied overhead). Cutting her down, he finds she is dead. A depressing scene, especially since Doyle's novel has her b&g'd, having survived a beating by the villain but still alive. |
