Record number: 21 Title: Ulee's Gold (1997) Medium: Movie Actress: Jessica Biel, Christine Dunford, Vanessa Zima Description: Earlier in the movie, Helen Jackson (Dunford) is tied down to a bed with sheets, while she is going through severe withdrawal of a drug that the bad guys kept her strung out on. Scenes of her strugging against the bonds, and Connie Hope (Patricia Richardson) having to inject her with a sedative. This scene occurs during the first half of the movie. Helen isn't gagged in this scene. The three Jackson women, teenage daughter Casey (Biel), very young daughter Penny (Zima) and 30-something mother Helen are tightly bound to chairs and gagged with duct tape. Close-ups of hands being wrapped in duct tape, gagged with duct tape wrapped around the head, some grunting. Casey struggles so much that, when they are discovered by (the unfortunately ungagged and unbound) Connie (Patricia Richardson of the TV show Home Improvement), we see her chair has tipped over. Scene lasts about three minutes and occurs about 85 minutes into the movie. |

Record number: 8839 Title: Secretary (2002) Medium: Movie Actress: Maggie Gyllenhaal Description: During the film's opening credits Gyllenhaal, in a white blouse, black slim skirt and flat shoes, strolls through the law office where she works with her wrists leather-cuffed to the ends of a long black metal bar that is also secured to her neck with another leather strap. This scene is repeated near the end of the movie, along with a brief sex scene at about an hour and 50 minutes in which Gyllenhaal stands with her back to a pine tree, her wrists lashed together behind it. Despite this story's obviously having been inspired by such works as Story of O, The Collector, and 9 1/2 Weeks. these are the film's only bondage scenes. |

She moans quite a bit through the gag while her captors squirt honey all over her bare arms and shoulders and show her a colony of ants they're going to let climb all over her. They release her before that, fortunately. The scene lasts for perhaps a minute, and comes in about 65' mark (without commercials) after a video conference with the President. |

Record number: 428 Title: Long Ships, The (1963) Medium: Movie Actress: Beba Loncar Description: She is gagged while taking a bath, knotted cloth between the teeth. Spirited away to a Viking ship, she is supposedly sacrificed (brief scene of struggling and mmmphing until Richard Widmark knocks her out, then a brief shot of her unconscious cleave-gagged face), but later turns up in the hold lying on some sacks with her wrists tied behind her back. A good deal of struggling and muffled cries. At one point she manages to spit out the knotted cloth and cry incoherently about "her father" and "hate you", but Widmark quickly handgags her then jams the gag between her teeth and knots it tightly behind her head. Nice scene, but pretty dark. |

Record number: 4459 Title: Saving Silverman (2001) Medium: Movie Actress: Amanda Peet Description: The title character, Darren Silverman, falls for the cute but bitchy Judith (Amanda Peet). Among her dictates is that Silverman end his friendship with two of his knuckleheaded friends. They retaliate by kidnapping her. After a comic fight scene, they finally manage to grab her and carry her over-the-shoulder (wearing only a nightie) to their basement. At first she's cuffed by an ankle to an engine block, still in the nightie. After the guys give her some clothes to wear, she manages to escape but is recaptured, tied to a chair (her arms to the chair's arms) with ankles bound. Later, one of the kidnappers chains her thoroughly and puts a catcher's mask on her to prevent her biting her captors. When one of the guys falls for the old "I'm really hot for you" ruse, she obtains keys to the chains and escapes when he goes upstairs. Ms. Peet spends a substantial amount of time in chains. The scenes are played mostly for laughs (it's a comedy after all). |
