Dr. Kimberley Shaw (Marcia Cross) has gone off the deep end and decided to blow up the Melrose Place building. When Sydney (Leighton) surprises Kimberley in the laundry Sydney is knocked out and when she regains consciousness finds herself well tied and cleave gagged. Her arms are tied behind and she appears to be actually hogtied although when she is finally released the ropes come off surprisingly easily! But it looks good and she is wearing a tight cleave gag. At one point Kimberley removes the gag (under threat of nasty activities with a blowtorch) and forces Sydney to phone Michael Mancini and persuade him to come to the laundry. The gag is then replaced. Eventually Michael saves her, knocking Kimberley out. As the episode ends Kimberley has recovered and tells everyone the place is about to be blown apart. |

| @3:00am CITY Record number: 962 Title: Lexx: The Series (1997) aka Tales from a Parallel Universe Medium: TV Series Actress: Eva Habermann Description: Episode: "Eating Pattern" (1.3) Zev (Habermann) spends most of the movie being passed back and forth between factions on a planet whose population survives by making living tissue into a green fluid to nourish parasitic worms they're infested with. First she ends up kneeling with her hands tied to a valve wheel on a pipe behind her. After being abducted by another bunch, her hands are again tied behind her, then she and her robot-head companion are tossed into a grinding machine, from which she saves herself by grabbing him between her legs and throwing him into the blades, causing them to jam. Finally she's wrapped with chains and tightly cleave-gagged, secured in a standing position to a rack of meat hooks while the movie's climactic scenes play out. @4:00pm Space/Imagination Record number: 5320 Title: Invisible Man, The (2000) Medium: TV Series Actress: Shannon Kenny Description: Episode: "Per Chance to Dream" (1.18) The Keeper (Kenny), a good-looking blonde, has been programmed by some sleep clinic technicians to murder a stranger. Using leather restraints Hobbes and Darien (the eponymous hero) bind her to a chair in the clinic and search for the mind-benders. Before they track down the bad guys, The Keeper escapes from her bonds and pursues her quarry. Action starts at about the 30 minute mark. @9:00pm HistCan Record number: 5954 Title: Quills (2000) Medium: Movie Actress: Kate Winslet, Diana Morrison Description: At the beginning of the film, Morrison, as a French noblewoman in one of the Marquis de Sade's stories, has her hands tied behind her with a leather thong as a prerequisite to being laid beneath the guillotine's blade, while the author (Geoffrey Rush) narrates off-camera. Then, at about an hour and 18 minutes, Madeleine (Winslet) is shown standing ungagged, tied by her outstretched wrists to a frame in the courtyard of the insane asylum where the Marquis is confined. Before a large crowd of onlookers, and as the asylum's superintendent (Michael Caine) and others look on approvingly from an upstairs window, she's whipped as punishment for smuggling de Sade's writings out of the institution. Madeleine is also hand-gagged several times during a struggle with a patient who attempts to rape her during a performance of a de Sade play about midway through the movie. On the DVD's commentary track, author Doug Wright, who wrote both the screenplay and the stage play upon which it was based, makes some rather interesting comments about the whipping scene. He notes that Winslet was wearing a plastic prosthetic back which was capable of raising welts and bleeding, but this effect was cut from the final release because it was considered too graphic. While assuring viewers that Winslet's back was protected during the whipping, he also points out, "Nevertheless, when it was over, she was wincing a bit from the pain." |

She's serious, however-serious enough that she frees herself by undoing the knot on her left wrist with her teeth, then untying the other one. |
