To this end, he kidnaps Kristin, and duct tapes her to a canvas chair. Her hands are taped in front, and a length of tape pins her shoulders to the chair. Her ankles are taped and she's gagged with a strip of tape for good measure. Unusual ending, but I won't spoil it for you. The action begins around the last ten minutes, and goes 'til nearly the end. IMO a top drawer scene, with a well-sealed tape gag. |

Record number: 11338 Title: The Girl Said No (1930) Medium: Movie Actress: Leila Hyams Description: Near the end (the last 5 minutes) of this 90-minute movie, Leila is grabbed out of her bedroom by her admiring fiancee-to-be, to disuade her from marrying someone else. He tears a sheet apart as he holds her & the rest of the house is banging at the bedroom door. The next shot shows her sitting the front seat of his convertible, tied (presumeably, you don't see her hands) and cleave gagged. The gag remains on for about 30 seconds or so, great lighting & close-ups. Some struggling with the gag but no mmpphhh-ing. A few seconds later he unties her hands as they drive away to wedded bliss. Interestingly, this is Leila's second gag scene (the other being The Bishop Murder Case), and both were cleave gags, rare in ANY 30's movie, let alone two, and both with the same actress! |
