Record number: 1056 Title: In Cold Blood (1967) Medium: Movie Actress: Brenda Currin, Ruth Storey Description: They play the female half of a real-life Kansas farm family accosted in the middle of the night by robbers. First the daughter (Currin) and then the mother (Storey) are shown being hogtied in their beds in rather dark, closely cropped scenes (neither is gagged), after the father and son have been taken downstairs and tied up. Later one of the robbers comes into Currin's bedroom and begins fondling her as though he's planning to rape her; this film having been made when it was, the scene isn't very explicit. The sequence ends with powerful scenes of Currin reacting to the sound of the gunshots as the robbers do away with the other members of her family one by one, leaving her for last. |

Title: Sabrina, the Teenage Witch Medium: TV Series Actress: Beth Broderick, Caroline Rhea, Lindsay Sloane Description: Episode: "Sabrina and the Pirates" At around the 20' mark, Sabrina's aunts get tied to chairs by pirates, back to back, hands behind, and gagged with black duct tape. Later, they have their wrists tied overhead. (BTW who'd have thought that Beth Broderick, one of the aunts, starred in "Slammer Girls" and "Psycho Beach Party"???) Bonus: at around the 10' mark, Sabrina briefly handgags her friend Valerie (Ms. Sloane). ____________________ @8:00pm CBC Title: Dick Tracy (1990) Medium: Movie Actress: Glenne Headly Description: As Tess Truehart, she's kidnapped by mistake midway through the film and winds up tied to a chair in a dark room, blindfolded and wrap-gagged. The film's climax has her tied lying on her back, ungagged, with her hands in front to a large horizontal gear under a drawbridge, positioned in such a way that her head will be crushed by the vertical gear it meshes with if Tracy doesn't rescue her in time. ______________________ @9:00pm FAM (Rogers ch 51) Title: Nate and Hayes (1983) Medium: Movie Actress: Jenny Seagrove Description: In a scene clearly inspired by King Kong, as well as the execution-by-burning scene in The Conqueror Worm, Seagrove's character is captured by island natives to be sacrificed. Wearing a long white period dress and ungagged, she is tied in a standing spreadeagle to a curved frame in the shape of two giant tusks, which is mounted on a long hinged pole atop a pyramid that will lower her into a fire built below and behind her. Lengthy scene highlighted by her beginning to recite the 23rd Psalm as the frame begins to descend, and some struggling. |
