Record number: 19729 Title: The Bride He Bought Online (2015) aka Flirting with Madness Medium: TV Movie Actress: Anne Winters, Annalisa Cochrane, Lauren Gaw Description: In this thriller that aired on Lifetime, lonely nerd John seeks revenge by kidnapping three high-school girls who played a prank on him and posted his humiliation on social media. The opening scene shows a girl in his car trunk, struggling and mmmphing, though her identity is difficult to make out since the scene consists entirely of closeups of her duct-taped mouth and ankles and zip-tied hands. According to the film's director, Christine Conradt: "It was intentionally shot to be ambiguous so we used a double for those shots.". Then we jump back in time. Starting around 52 minutes in (with commercials), John captures the girls separately. Timid Mandy (Lauren Gaw) is knocked out with a blow to the head, bitchy ringleader Kaylie (Annalisa Cochrane) is grabbed in her house at gunpoint, and we only see him sneaking up behind our relatively level-headed narrator Avery (Anne Winters). All three girls are wearing modest street clothes. We see each of them gagged with tape, with a few good closeups of Mandy and Avery, though the gags are all removed fairly quickly once the girls arrive at John's hideout. The girls spend much of the second hour ungagged, with their hands bound with plastic ties and further secured to support posts with steel cables. Mandy's and Kaylie's hands are behind their backs, while Avery's hands are initially in front. John's plan is to sell all three girls into foreign slavery, but he only manages to hand over Kaylie (who in a dark twist is never seen again) before the deal goes south. He returns to the hideout with Mandy and Avery, who manages to attack him with a broken bottle, but he overpowers her and reties her with her hands behind her back. Eventually, both girls manage to take advantage of a fatal dispute between John and his prostitute confidant to make their escape. Record number: 24663 Title: His Deadly Affair (2019) Medium: TV Movie Actress: Danielle C. Ryan Description: In this Lifetime TV-movie, "Heidi" (Danielle C. Ryan) is handgagged at 29 minutes in (w/o commercials; 37 minutes in with commercials) then breaks free and is knocked out and thrown in the back of car. About a minute later we see her still unconscious and tied to a large bed, arms outstretched to either side and tied with black rope. Her bare feet (ankles) are tied together and to the footboard with one ankle cuffed to it for good measure. She's wearing a red evening dress and is cleave gagged and blindfolded with black cloths. Gina Holden comes in and yells at her accomplice for not putting her in the basement and they argue while Heidi lays there still knocked out. She wakes up and Holden tells her to unlock her cell phone but she won't. She then mmmpphs the word "water" and Holden wets a rag and drips some on her gagged mouth. She then dumps the pitcher in her face causing Heidi to choke and cough through the gag. She unlocks the phone with her bound hand and then Holden starts texting Heidi's sister pretending to be her. Holden removes the blindfold and later puts it back. Then the plot continues with the usual Lifetime type stuff. But Ryan stays bound for the rest of the film and there are lots of shots of her from many different angles. At one point she manages to untie herself but is almost immediately recaptured and retied the same way. There are some great full body shots of her on the bed from above and some bed level angles. She's gagged and blindfolded through much of the film and sometimes just gagged, plus some gag talk. There are closeups of her bound hands, lots of her bound struggling (rope-burned) bare feet, closeups of her gagged mouth, closeups of her water (and later sweat soaked) chest and a couple of pans of one of her bound outstretched arms. And there a few scenes where she's alone and struggling like crazy. Everything is well lit.
