Record number: 7110 Title: Frontiersmen, The (1938) Medium: Movie Actress: Emily Fitzroy Description: The local school is causing headaches for the Bar 20 ranch, so Hopalong Cassidy (William Boyd) and Windy (Gabby Hayes) ride over to investigate. The next scene shows a pack of boys brandishing torches, whooping and dancing in a circle. In the middle is the old schoolmarm, her hands bound behind her back. She's seated in the hollow of a huge tree stump with more ropes securing her inside. A lookout in a tree spies Hoppy and Windy riding up the valley so the boys, pull the old lady from the tree stump and drag her, still bound, into the school. After entering the school building the cowpokes are treated to some lengthy of choral singing. After a several songs, there's a commotion in a closet and when Hoppy opens a door the old teacher staggers out, cloth gag around her neck and ropes hanging from her wrists and shoulders. She announces her resignation, but not before demanding to tan the hide of the ringleader. Action starts about 15 minutes into the film. |

| At the end of Thursday's episode they gave some previews of Next weeks thrills. It seems the missing Emily is back in "steinbacks" hands. She is seen in a trunk, cleave gagged with a white cloth, then on a couch as Steinback tries to get woman friend to kill her. Looks wery good but who knows when these scenes will really run. I would start taping today. |

Later we get to see her transported to State prison to begin her life sentence dressed in her best "Reform School Dropout" moll look: Hair: Farrah's famous blonde mane teased Black leather jacket w/ upturned collar; unzipped, to show off a lacey blouse underneath. Tight-fitting Gold Lame ("Spank me, Spank me") Pants. Accessorized by the prison's Waist Chains and Cuffs. Her wrists are cuffed to the waist chains on-screen, then she's loaded into the van, feistily challenging the matron. While in the van, she flirt with the guard ("Let's make the ride a little more interesting"), who somehow is able to decline her come-on. She's led out of the van to State prison, where the matrons remove her jewelry, before leading her to her new cell. A shot of her in prison waist chains is on the cover of the video. |

| The very cute Brooke Nevin gets a lengthy hand gag just past the hour mark. About the 1:25 mark she is captured and ends up tied to a chair in a hut. There are a couple quick shots of her wrists tied behind her. Ropes are also around her body pinning her to the chair. Her legs are not bound and she is not gagged. Near the end of the movie (about 1:45 mark) she is recaptured and carried over the shoulder but is not tied again. |
