Record number: 15888 Title: Mannix Medium: TV Series Actress: Unknown Description: Episode: "War Of Nerves" (3.24) A young woman who has entered a county fair competition in a rural community north of Los Angeles disappears, and her wealthy father hires Joe Mannix to look for her. As Mannix begins his investigation, everyone he interviews claims that the woman never arrived in town. Then everyone -- the police, the town council, and even his hotel clerk -- suddenly seem interested only in having Mannix leave town as quickly as possible. Mannix learns, however, that they are all frightened by an extortion plot that involves not only the missing woman, but a threat to every person in the town. Terrorist threaten to blow up the small town with nerve gas stolen from the US Army, unless they receive a million dollars. As the end episode heads towards the end, we see the missing girl bound and gagged with an Over the mouth gag and the hostage taker going back on his word to kill the girl. Fortunately, Mannix arrives in the nick of time to free the girl and disarm the nerve gas. The girl is wearing a blue sweater, blue jeans and boots.
