Mainstream clips
Anyone else here cutting scenes out of mainstream DVD's? I mean like from "Cabin By The Lake" or oldies like the "Ginger" series? What software do you use to do it? I use a program called VideoReDo which lets me cut scenes and also to do some limited cut-n-paste editing to fine tune the scenes.

I have collected a large number of scenes and have made a few of my own edited 'productions' from them. I am now looking to trade them for other movie scenes I don't have or maybe TV caps or other BD stuff... I am mainly interested in MPEG2 format video that is still in the original quality. MPEG4 (Divx) would be OK but it is only as a last resort.

I use DVD Shrink to first de-encrypt the DVD and then
Virtualdub mpeg2 to convert it to avi (mpeg2 is so highly compressed, that it's very difficult to edit directly)
Unless you would be satisfied with very limited, rudimentary editing, you should buy a dedicated video editing program. I use VideoExplosion Deluxe (80 bucks)
All except the latter are free programs.

Quick followup to your question. Get yourself HUGE hard-drives for the capture/editing stuff (I've got 6 300GB jobs)
you'll need them.

The show actually has to air first before people can make clips, might want to hold off the requests until then.

Just record Fox primetime from 8 to 10 the next couple of nights and the promo will likely turn up.

I am getting rid of my VHS tapes
in favor of DVD.

I have a lot of TV/Movie bondage tapes
I am going to be posting in addition to

Some tapes I will let go at no cost.

Wonder whom they'll get to replace him in the gum commercial?

Perhaps I'll send a clip of these scrapping Japanese Secretaries as a suggestion

I think a lot of us are doing this now. I've clipped
the scenes you mentioned above, and I too try to preserve
the original resolution. Is anyone trying to coordinate
these efforts? If not, we should organize ourselves
so that we don't all process the same DVDs, but rather
exchange DVDs of our clips amongst ourselves.

Yes. That is exactly what I am hoping for. With soooo much stuff being released every week on DVD, I do not have enough lifetimes to rent/crop them all.

If you're in the United States?
Then you have some help.
The Major has been a machine with clipping those US DVDs
