Sunday September 21 03:17:21 2014 A Night of Terror |
So, just watched the Superman episode "A Night of Terror" with Phyllis Coates tied back to back with Ann Doran, and all I can say is WOW!!! For something done back in the early 1950's, I wonder if - back then - those scenes could be considered pornographic/erotic in nature!! Body ropes, 8 or 9 or so, above and below the chest, tight fitting and bulging sweater... like I said - WOW!!! It really is a shame that the show "toned it down" after the first season... no telling what could have happened if the show continued along those lines. |

Saw it for the first time last night myself. Loved the dangling gags after the initial rescue too. Also liked the fact the Batman episodes that followed afterwards led into bondage too, "Flop Goes The Joker". Great scene for an "oldie". Hopefully comic based shows like "Arrow", "Gotham", "The Flash" and "Constantine" can yield some goodies this Fall. |

Just found an excellent Japanese website with pretty big archives of webcaps, many I haven't seen before. |

Totally agree. And, what makes it even more amazing is the fact that I am an absolute (anti) "hands in front snob." But, this scene is just...SO... DARN... INCREDIBLY... FANTASTIC!! Wish I could watch an hour/even hours of a continuation of this all time great scene. |

It would have made more sense than tying them up to immediately shoot them in five minutes. If I was Superman, I wouldn't have left that second camp manager (Sleep Water? Sleep Well?), he questioned on his way to save Lois. He was pretty suspicious. I would expect some tied up campers in the cabins nearby, if not Lois if I was him. But, I agree. A fun scene (loved the OTMs, loved the visible knot to Doran's gag, the writhing, the dangling gags, everything), no matter how brief. |

I've seen it a number of times but somehow last night was the first time I noticed the perspiration on Ms. Coates forehead during the scene. Made it all even better for me. She was really a beautiful woman. |

Sunday September 21 16:42:18 2014 Phyllis Coates/Wesson Oil |
I read that back in the '50s Ed Wood (of "Plan 9 From Outer Space" fame) directed a number of TV commercials. In one for Wesson Oil, Phyllis Coates and some putz were playing explorers who are taken captive by cannibals. The captives protest they're too old and tough, but the cannibals insist that with Wesson Oil they'll cook up just fine. (Yes, it was a very different time.) While the commercial itself is probably lost to the ages, there was a behind-the-scenes photo of the Ms. Coates and her partner standing back-to-back tied to a post, rather loosely, as you might expect in a TV commercial for cooking oil. |

I'm trying to find some of the scenes from Supergirl but no such luck so far (listed around the 20th page on the site) |

Incredibly great site. Thank you I would find some of those movies to put the edited scenes on the Rob's damsel, but Japanese characters are a barrier to my research. I can't identify the movies and the guy apparently didn't put a title to the caps or a link leading to the videos. |
