As well as tape and ball. It's pretty much impossible to shut someone up completely with a gag. But they can be muffled a good deal.

Must run in the family. Dario Argento produced more scenes than any mainstream director.

Damsel who get treated well
Who are some captors that treat their damsel relatively well despite holding them captive?
For example making sure she is as comfortable as possible, giving her something to drink, eat or just something to pass the time etc..

One of my favorites is from the Hong Kong movie BLACK MASK, where a hostage hottie is given a video game to play while bound and gagged in the anti-hero's lair. She gets really into the game and laughs and smiles through her cleave gag.

Movies where the captor is (very) attracted to their attractive b&g captive include:

Samantha Eggar in "The Collector" (1965)
Mary Louise Parker in "Red" (2010)
Victoria Abril in "Tie Me Up! Tie Me Down!"

Arguing about relative effectiveness in non-productive. Nothing further.

Millie Manders album cover
Another new album cover that may appeal to some of us

Millie Manders and the Shutup’s front woman appears tape gagged. The tape has ‘shut up’ written on it (as part of the full album title - the rest is on her forehead and neck). She’s also presumably topless but you don’t see anything

Barely... and I do mean BARELY... stuck on tape gags are just pitiful to see. I guess technically this a tape "gag" but it's beyond lame due to it's looseness.

Damn shame that Paget avoided gags for so long (meaning in her hottie prime) and then we finally get one it's crap. What a waste.
