I recall a paperback I saw at the public library when I was in high school. Its title was Chinaman's Chance, by Ross Thomas, and it featured a bound and gagged brunette on the cover.
I just performed a Google search, and learned that I posted about this novel in 2005.

Here are my two posts:
Many years ago, when I was still an adolescent, I came across a paperback novel with an intriguing cover and a politically incorrect title. The cover had a photograph of a good-looking brunette wearing a shiny gold dress and gagged with two strips of tape; I don't recall the exact color of the tape, but I'm positive it wasn't gray duct tape.
The title of the novel was "Chinaman's Chance", a very politically incorrect title that included a vile racial epithet. I read into this novel, since its plot was too asinine for me to read it in its entirety. Anyway, the plot concerned a missing girl, and the protagonist was a corpulent Asian.
Near the end of the novel, the protagonist is orchestrating a trade for the girl, and, for some reason, she is bound and gagged in his car. Her bondage is vividly described, and she is gagged with tape, as depicted on the cover. There is a delectable description of how she is walked over to the party that wants her.
Is anyone familiar with this novel, or has anyone seen the novel with this cover?

I just looked up this title on Amazon.com, and learned that its author is a respected mystery writer named Ross Thomas.
The edition of the paperback with the picture of the gagged brunette wasn't featured on the Web Page, however.

That's it! Thank you for sharing! That cover was most likely conceived in an attempt to encourage sales and wouldn't be allowed nowadays. I know it interested me enough to check out the book from the public library.
