| There was a pretty decent scene on the BBC show "Luther" last night. Starting around the 44 minute mark, it features two women (Alexandra Moen, blond with long hair, cute, and Laura Pyper, very short brunette hair, cuter, Irish) making dinner in their house when they hear a banging noise from upstairs. Fairly freaked out, the blonde goes to investigate. Of course, it's a killer who has been hiding in their house waiting for their other house mate. The blonde is nabbed off-screen, and the brunette, who hears the noise start all over again and goes to investigate, is then confronted by the killer right outside the kitchen door. The next time we see them, the blonde is already bound and gagged, hands behind her back and feet together, with a bandanna stuffed in her mouth, reinforced with wrap-around black tape. Her friend is getting her feet bound with zip-ties, and after a brief "Don't do this, we won't tell anybody, yadda yadda", she has a bandanna shoved in her mouth and tape wrapped around her head.The killer then chooses out his weapon as the third housemate arrives. Unfortunately, this is the last we see of the damsels though, as the story is wrapped up in the next scene. However, some nice mmpphing, some great close-ups of the two damsels, some nice shots of them looking over at each other (which I always enjoy), and the scene is a decent length. The anticipation and tension in the lead in is also very well done, with a peeping Tom shower scene and everything. Pics of the two actresses below... |

Everything ends okay for them- they're left tied up as the killer goes upstairs to nab their other room mate, but he arrives to find Idris Elba there. There's a scuffle and the killer is taken out. Next time we see our damsels, they are untied and smiling in a photo sent to someone who seemed to be the mastermind behind the crime as a tease (from what I gathered, I only skimmed the show.) |

| The red-band trailer for Spike Lee's remake of the Japanese movie Oldboy just hit the web, and around 1:37 there's a shot of a pretty woman with her hands tied AOH and sporting a thick white cleave gag. (There was no such scene in the original; the remake seems to be taking the basic premise and varying from it substantially. The original was pretty twisted, so it's no surprise the American remake would change it up some.) One caveat: The shot in the trailer is a video being sent over a cell phone. Hopefully there's more in the movie itself. I'm not sure who the actress is. You can find the trailer in the usual places. The movie hits theaters (in the U.S. at least) on Oct. 25. |

Still, great scene otherwise with the restraints and the emoting. *Spoiler* HATED the fact they killed off Mira Kirshner's character though it's to be expected considering the bias against hooker characters. Julie Benz has never looked better though, glad she finally did something about those awful cankles. |
