Is a real shame Joss didn't get to oversee the complete first season at least. The episodes made after his exit will have a very different feel methinks. If he had've stayed at the helm there would've been DiD's aplenty. Now notsomuch :(. |

I am 100% sure that lady is Eleanor Tomlinson. Plus after skimming through the first episode it’s clear that her character has some kind of magic when she starts singing. When she got captured her captor handgagged her to stop her from singing. So I’m expecting some nice gag scenes for her in this series. |

In the opening sequence, before the title, the two main characters Mrs. True and Miss Adair (Laura Donnelly and Ann Skelly) save Myrtle (Viola Prettejohn, 26 years old), a girl "touched" by a group of men with terrifying masks (they seem to be made of human skin) who wanted to kidnap her, there is a very brief scene, a frame, of Myrtle gagged and wrapped in a sheet, then there is a fight and Mrs. True prevents them from taking her away in a kind of coffin. In the finale we find out that the masqueraders were supposed to take the girl to a mad doctor who conducts experiments on the "touched," who are mostly women, so there are possibilities here too. Sorry for my bad english, i have usad a translator |

Was thinking it shouldn't matter if Whedon isn't involved with the show going forward. The Victorian(Jack The Ripper era)setting and female-oriented cast and plots should ensure that peril of some sort should feature practically every episode. If it's popular and gets renewed for a few seasons it could be a veritable DiD goldmine. Shall see how it pans out with great interest. |

Eleanor got a great otm in Poldark - for a few darkly lit seconds anyhow. Otm's suit her well. This new scene should be much longer and better lit. She's obviously not going to get captured by villains all the time but think we can safely assume that she will be gagged whenever she is ;) |

The episode was “Homicide DR-22” (3.14). The female victim was already down on the floor, hogtied and gagged, when her killer savagely and senselessly finished her off by smashing a ceramic object against her head. The gloves she wore proved to be a significant clue in the timeline, as they established that the girl was in the process of leaving her apartment when she was attacked. The episode includes an excellent close-up camera pan from her bound ankles to her bound (and gloved) hands. The hogtie is so stringent, her ankles and wrists are in the frame together at one point. |
