Her captor stuff-gags her with a handkerchief over her loud protests before leaving. Near the end of the episode he returns and pulls out the gag briefly, only to reinsert it later. Jackson is rather attractively attired in a long red period dress. The storyline continues for several episodes, but Jackson doesn't appear bound again until Episode 1190. Record number: 9455 Title: Dark Shadows (1971) Medium: Soap Opera Actress: Kate Jackson Description: Episode: "1190" (25.005) (Original air-date January 15, 1971) At the beginning of the episode there's a close-up shot of her right wrist, still roped to the arm of the chair to which she was tied two episodes earlier. The camera pulls back to show her rather loosely wrap-gagged, the cloth tied in front. A few minutes later comes one of bondage's great bloopers. Her captor, who has apparently removed the gag so he can talk to her (the removal isn't shown) tries twice to tie it back on before leaving, but it comes loose before he can even get to the door of the room. Jackson adeptly clenches it in her teeth to keep it from falling. (This scene even appears on a Dark Shadows blooper tape!) Once she's alone, Jackson hops the chair over to a table with a lit candle so she can try burning through the rope on her left wrist. Somehow, she manages to do this without setting her dress on fire and makes good her escape midway through the episode. However, she gets grabbed and handgagged by her captor again in the episode's final shot. |

She passes out, and he carries her off. This scene is reprised at the beginning of "553," though with different dialogue and camera angles. The monster then places her on a bed, still unconscious. After a few uneventful dialogue scenes when she wakes up, we finally see her tied up in a closet at the end of the episode, gagged with a leopard-patterned cloth. No action in "554," but "555" picks up where we left off. As it opens, the monster and some other bad guy (hey, you expect me to follow these plots?) gloat over her as she naps in the closet. Eventually, the monster carries her out of the closet, puts her down on the bed again, and unties her. She tries to escape, but he catches her, handgags her, and demands that she cooperate. He then offers her some water, which of course he's drugged, because it's not as though she's already spent enough screen time unconscious or anything. She wakes up in a locked room and remains a prisoner for a few more episodes, but there are no further scenes of interest to us. |

At some point she is ungagged onscreen, and even that looks nice because it takes a bit of effort to yank the saliva-soaked cloth out from between her teeth. After the sacrifice takes place, which ends with her getting stabbed repeatedly, she is left for dead. |

He apologizes for her having an uncomfortable journey, then notices the color of a bit of her hair sticking out, which is brunette instead of gray. He pulls off the bandages to find a young woman's face (Josephine Wilson) instead of an old woman's, then puts both of his gloved hands over the woman's mouth. At 1hr 20mins, Lacey is brought into a room on a train carriage, cleave gagged with a thin white cloth and her hands bound in front of her with black cord. She is rather woozy and unable to stand, having most likely been knocked out at some point offscreen. She is ungagged off-camera within about 10secs, with some of her untying being shown in obscured shots (too many people standing around getting in the way) until 1hr 22mins. All in all, no particularly good views of Lacey, who wears a nun's outfit. |
